aesthetically I prefer the exterior/interior/overall looks of the Ranger over all other trucks available.

practically speaking it is big enough for my dirt bikes, small enough for commuting, fits the family + gear for a weekend car camping trip and it tows enough to meet my needs. And it does all this fairly comfortably.

financially speaking I often hear that a full size truck can be had cheaper and certainly there is overlap in pricing. However, I found it impossible to find a similar equipped full size truck for cheaper. I'm sure a few pop up here and there with incentives and sales, but they best I ever found was within $5k.

So why spend $5k or more for a "Texas Roadhouse Truck" as someone else once described them. Baha!

After growing up in Texas, even my wife says that men drive full size and these trucks are for teenagers. I told her to piss off. This truck saved me $10k, it fits in my garage, but still pulls the boat and carries the kids where we need to go.

My 07 Ranger was showing its age...I have no need for a truck, but just wanted one...for the rare occasion like when I needed to replace my patio pealed posts and hauled 4x6s home from HomeDepot. Would not work in the Lincoln...

Hey Phil,

I bet Tito likes the Ranger better too. When you're out riding around with him he can see all his desert buddies,I bet they're jealous.

Hi Dave,

Yeah...he was in a class at our Pima Junior College. (very smart tortoise!) He rode in the Ranger... Actually Tito was the exhibit to my hour and half lecture on the Sonoran Desert Tortoise. He was the star of the show and he has to be one of the most photographed Sonoran Desert Tortoise in the Tucson area... It turned out he was so popular he has been invited back for another presentation next fall...

Best,

I love the size. Plenty of power to tow my boat and small camper. I've been driving f 150's for 20 years. 6 of them to be exact. Great trucks but they have just gotten to big. For my needs anyway.

Fullsize is just too big IMO. I’ve always had small trucks - 4 Rangers and 2 Colorados over the years.

A fullsize wouldn’t fit in my garage and only once or twice in my 17 years of driving have I needed one for a specific project or job. If that need comes up again I have access to one at work!

I'll play:

1. Didn't need full-size.
2. Wanted a truck more suitable for tight trails and overlanding.
3. Fits in my garage.
4. Larger overlanding aftermarket (preemptively, which has panned out so far).
5. It can do everything I needed it to and then some.

We had been waiting for the Ranger to come back. We have a 2001 F-150 that my husband drives. I've always wanted a truck, but I needed one I could easily park (although I still manage to park wopsided within the lines). Maybe new glasses next?

My main deal with this truck is.. it literally has the same tow capacity as my old 90’s Chevy half ton, but has way more power, and better gas mileage. I think it’s hilarious when people daily drive a huge diesel or SUV just to tote there little bodies around. I daily a motorcycle because I just don’t need to even drive my little truck 30 miles a day when 2 wheels can transport me just fine

We bought the Ranger mainly for our many "road trips". We needed something dependable that would haul all our "stuff". We also wanted something comfortable. I intended to drive my Hyundai Accent back & forth to work & just drive the Ranger on our trips. BUT, I love driving the Ranger so much that I find myself driving it most of the time!:sun:

Why did I choose a mid-sized truck?

Well, under the size rules, my options were limited.
