I use the strap on type mirror. They take some time to get adjusted right, and I have to check and occasionally re-tighten when I’m refueling, but they get the job done. I like that I have three mirrors per side. Factory mirrors get aimed down so I can see where my tires are. Bigger lens of...
Wind resistance at highway speeds will kill mileage more than anything. My RV is right at the maximum 55sqft frontal area (weighs about 5500lbs loaded). At 65mph, I get 8mpg. Slow to 60 and it gets 9.5. Had a 20mph tailwind for an entire drive once and got 13mpg at 65mph.
A bit late the the conversation, but I haul the 21BHE with my Ranger. Same GVWR as yours, but I’ve never come close to that number. I use the equalizer hitch and still get some side to side motion in gusty crosswinds and when trucks pass. It demands your attention, but never gets out of...
Mine is wired to charge from the vehicle. The service tech at the dealership was the one who discovered it wasn’t charging. Low battery voltage was preventing my furnace from working properly.
So I am having issues. Battery is not charging while hooked up to the truck. I have the Ford/RedArc installed. When hooked up to shore power, battery measures 13.6V because of rectifier/charger charging the battery. When completely unhooked, trailer battery measures 12.7V. Hooked up to...
Follow up on Chemical Guys Hydro Wax Ceramic... back in September I detailed my wife’s Explorer and waxed it with Meguiars Ultimate Wax. Didn’t even put a sealant on it. The next day, I used Chemical Guys Hydrowax on my truck which supposed to be a one step (no sealant) product. Due to...
I reset mine this morning. It wasn’t far off, but I’m a perfectionist. I have standard gauge with single screen. The whole screen becomes dedicated to Engineer Test Mode. You have to scroll through quite a few pages to get to the AFE screen. If you havent touched it it will 1000 in the AFE...
I wouldn’t say that. You are a licensed pilot. That makes you part of .002% of the population. I would say that’s somebody. I just got lucky enough that my hobby turned into a career. Do you own or rent?
I saw either on here or the facebook group, a guy wired his license plate lights to turn off when he put the truck in reverse. He used a normally closed relay wired to the reverse lights.
Just a small note on fuel economy. An unmodified truck with zero wind will get slightly worse gas mileage heading from east coast out west than in the opposite direction due to the overall change in elevation.
That is it. The perfect offset for the tires. Right to the edge of the top of the fender. That’s the look I want. I can’t find any 25-30 offset wheels that I like, so a 1 inch spacer may be the ticket.
