I'm thinking of going with either: RTR Tech 6s, Traverse HDs, or Method 701s. If the 285/75R17s don't fit because of height but still leave some space for slightly more width, then I was thinking about maybe going to a Method 701 in 16" with 295/75R16. I'm looking at running BFG KO2s and the measurements I've gathered are that the 285/75/17s are 33.9" tall, (taller) and 11.3" wide (narrower) vs. going with the 295/75/16s, which are 33.4" tall but 11.6" wide for the 16s. The 285/75R17s are my ideal tire size, so hopefully there's no rubbing!
Nice. I really wanted the 301s or the Fuel Shoks (which seems like the alpha wheel), but not for over $1,200 I couldn't afford or justify it. Some day.

Yea can someone explain what this part is? Also I need to remove mine, is it as easy as removing the liner and unbolting it?
Looked really annoying after the first two bolts, so I cut most of it off with a sawzall. From what I can tell it's just a lightweight piece to hold the inner skirt on. I'm gonna run a couple self tappers into it, because it's rubbing a little, then I should be great lock to lock, even under full flex.

I think I’m gonna run the 34x10.5” BFG K02s. It’s the only tire in that size. 55lbs and actually measures out to 33.5”. A bit in the “pizza cutter” side of things, but tall and just wide enough. Not sure if I’m gonna run them on a negative offset wheel though..... That’s a lot of poke!

Its a safety block that keeps the flippin tire off your feet during a front offset crash.
Tires only rub on full lock so I’m going to keep the block for now , barely any rubbing on the liner . Going off-roading tomorrow so I can finally see how the new wheels/tires perform.

This is a BFG 285/70/17 KO2 on a 8.5x17 wheel with a -12 offset. It's perfect IMO. Might end up getting the stock looking flares, but don't need them that badly. It's not as obnoxious as I thought it would be.

Talking about the plastic block, not the crash bars.
I was referring to the "Block" and not the crash bars. It works in tandem with the crash bars. Tire hits crash bar, crash bar moves back into block, block helps to prevent the cab from completely crushing in the foot well and helps to evenly disperse the impact.

I agree, good choice. Ultimately I did have to get the fender flares to cut down on the road rash. Glad I did, it really helps.

Looks great, man! Just to confirm, you ended up going with 285/70R17s instead of the 285/75R17?

Yessah! Still a little rubbing in reverse on the rear wheel well, but I should have that fixed soon.

Drives so much better now.

I'm looking at 17x9 +6 offset with 285/70/17. Is this pic at stock height? Did you have rubbing before removing the crash bars or did you just preemptively remove them to make more room. I'd prefer not to remove or cut. How high did you lift? Your truck looks friggin' awesome btw.

285/70/17 +1 offset. Stock height I only rubbed a tad at full lock going in reverse. Now that I'm leveled no rubbing at all. Crash bars and blocks removed, plenty of space now.
