Anyone running +35 offset wheels with 285s? 275s?

What width is the wheel? Offset is in correlation to width also to check for clearance.

Factory is 17x8 et50 I believe (magnetic sport wheels). If you're sticking with 17x8 wheel, an et35 wheel will fit no problem with 285-70-17

If you go wider like a 17x8.5 you may have rubbing.
Yep 17x8.5. slightly more backspacing than stock plus I have a 2 inch lift. Seen some guys run 275/70R17 with +15? And move the crash bars forward (front)

So you'll move the tire a few mm closer to the suspension, which will require a small spacer to clear the control arm on a 285-70-17 tire. 5mm spacer is required for the factory 17x8 et50 with a 285 so add the 9mm back and you'll need at least least 15mm spacer now.

Tire will poke out 21mm more on the new wheels which would be fine, except you have to add the spacer width so that'll bring you out to "at least" 35mm or so.

A 275 should work, a 285 you will rub. I barely rubbed on my previous setup and according to the tire calculations you'd be poking 14mm further out which results in rub at full lock on the crash bars. The only reason 285 would rub is because the need of a spacer.

Not sure I totally follow. Stock is +55 so going to +35 is gain of 20mm clearance. Minus 1/4" from wheel width (say 6mm). I net 14mm of space from the spindle. You think the actual tire will hit the uca?

I have 285/70-17 on a +35 rim and 3.5 lift.

Front bars were gone before these tires went on, and I had slight rubbing on rear bars at full lock with some compression.

Width of the wheel is irrelevant. Off-set measures against the center line of the rim.

That image is perfect. From 265/60-18 to 285/70-17 the inner side wall will move 10 mm farther out from the suspension, and the outter sidewall will move 30mm farther out. I'm on 285/70-17 with +35 offset.

I had the front crash bars removed before the tires, so I can't speak to the rub there but the rear bars did have some rubbing at full turn and some compression. Even a slight driveway ramp at full lock got a rub, so I removed the rear bars.

I have 3.5 lift on FX4 suspension.

Here's all the numbers for the 265/60-18 to 285/70-17 swap.

Man, that fitment is perfect to me. Thanks for the info, this is really helpful. Also is that a Warn Ascent bumper? Looking good man ?

No problem.

Thank you, yes it is a Warn Ascent. I'm real happy with the it for build strength and quality, but the paint peeled from the powerwasher. Iy was very much like plasti-dip, which is disappointing.

Yep, that would be me - rears were still close but to be safe, I installed ReadyLIFT crash bars because I knew they would rub while off-road. That size of tire and lower offset is better suited to a 3” lift than my 2-1/2” level.

Jay @JACKSMYDOG has the right idea when it comes to his 285/70R17s - he lowered his offset enough to clear the knuckles, but kept it high enough and lifted his truck high enough to keep his tires out of his wheel well liners. And, he removed the crash bars just to be sure.
