They may hate the 0% but they are sure advertising the hell out of it. I've been looking at either a 2nd ranger for a 2020 Escape and that's all i'm seeing 0% for 84 mo deals. I think i'm going to wait until summer as wellGuys, as I posted last week after negotiating with various Ford dealers for a month:
- Dealers are being swamped by people who think Ford is desperate to sell vehicles... The sales people aren't feeling any pressure to discount yet as a result. In fact, they are annoyed with 23yr olds coming in with 450 credit scores wanting 0% interest and 10k off MSRP with no verifiable income....who are looking to buy a mustang..... that's your disconnect. Maybe that will change in June when car sales plummet, but not now.
- Ford corporate is offering 0% financing but dealers hate it, if you want a dealer to give you max discounts off purchase price and you have excellent credit, sign a loan from them for 3% interest and immediately refinance to lower rate via your own bank or pay the loan off as fast as you can so interest expenses are minimal. Believe me, having a much lower initial balance pays off more in the long run than having perfect interest rate. There is no benefit to paying 0% rate early. Run the numbers yourself.
- Don't accept anything less than 8k off the ranger lariat trim, and if you are really lucky or dealer is desparate on a vehicle that has been sitting on the lot for a year - you might get 9-10k off.
