What did you do WITH your Ranger today?

Drove to the forest and checked on the black walnuts.

Two are still alive from the original 25 planted, and looks to me that these two are survivors. There may still be some weaklings in the midst of all the grass and bushes, but most likely not.

Now at 4 years, they're about 1.7 meters (5.5 feet) and looking like little trees.

One chestnut is still alive, but it seems to die off to the ground in each winter and just sprouts some leaves just above the ground. But you'll never know if someday..

Road trip for work today. 340 miles. Much prefer the Ranger to so love these short trips. And then I get to head back home Thursday! I be driving!

Took mine to the car wash and gave it a farm truck style bath, consisting of a pre soak, wash and rinse, then went to the grocery store and bought some bare essentials.

Sadly, the off-road scene down here is just lame.

Nothing exciting, but I did a 5-tire rotation with my new (to me) matching spare sport wheel.

Same here. Had it done and the transfer case drain and filled. Pulling the travel trailer next week for the first time with the Ranger.

I have an enormous, mature black walnut tree in my front yard - it is about 25-30 metres tall. I am sure the squirrels will be out of their minds with joy in the Fall.

Annual Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix this weekend. Put my truck in the show field mostly because it's too far to walk from the parking fields to the event stuff on my two new knees.
The do actually race old cars on the roads around Schenley Park in Pittsburgh. The show field is heavy on imports but there is a general American car section and a Corvette section. Largest vintage car racing event in the nation every year.
2024 and 2025 3rd Place awards from the Carlisle Ford Nationals propping up the hood.
