I did exactly the same thing......nothing! Mine hasn't left the garage since October 2022. I refuse to let the city, county & state destroy my vehicles with all the salt that they put on the roads out here.

Back in December, we had a 3 day blizzard that dropped 3 ft of snow. The a week later we had several days that were in the -20's with a wind chill of -46°. I have a heater like yours that I use to keep the garage and all the vehicles toasty warm.
I have garage envy.

It's hitting -8° Friday night and Soupie lives in the driveway or street (Kate gets the one-car garage and she deserves it after 32 years of me!).

I'll be seeing how well Soupie starts in that cold weather.

Growing up in Canada, in the old days (you know, walking up hill to and from school), all cars had block heaters, it was necessary back then. Fancy ones also had battery warmers. When I went to the University of Ottawa, there were plugs at most parking spots.

I anticipate the Ranger starting right up (using the Start-X because I'm staying inside!) but we'll see!

And no dump runs at that temp either!

A person can never have a big enough garage! When I lived in KY for a few years, I actually did have enough space for everything. That property had a huge oversized 3 stall attached garage, a 24x24 detached garage with a carport on the back side, and a 24x32 pole barn. For two years of my life, everything I owned had a home inside......and still there were no empty stalls.

Fast forward to the current place.....I have room for 3 vehicles inside. I'm OK with leaving a few things outside until summer rolls around and the hail storms roll in. :(

Hi David,

One of the smaller ones that we have in the copper mines in our area. 13mph empty and about 7mph loaded. They are so big that all smaller trucks, support vehicles and such have to have a red X flag on a 12 ft long pole at the back of the vehicle to keep the driver of these behemoths from running over and crushing smaller vehicles. We get flat bed Semi trucks with one tire on then on the I19, hauling just one tire..with the lead and following blinking trucks and a Wide Load designation on the Semi...

best,
Phil

Your illustration of a single tire on a flatbed really puts the size in perspective! Holy smokes, even with that, I can't really grasp how big they are - how on earth do they position the tire to mount it!

I went to a gun store/indoor gun range a couple towns over to have three sets of night sights installed. The previous sights were from 2008/2009 and beyond expired.

Then I stopped by the Walmart to get a few things.

Look at that sexy Supercab parked way out there.

One pistol was on my belt and I was able to put the G34 in the lock box. I didn't like the idea of leaving the other G17 sitting in the truck, so I wore both G17s in the Walmart, lol.

They were concealed, though, and being the old man that I am, it started to hurt after a while. Both IWB, one appendix, the other at 2:30. Not very gangsta-ish.

Since you wore both, I’m giving you the nickname we had for a college buddy back in the day - calculator case on right hip, slide rule on the left.

Called him “Quick Draw”. :D

I wonder if @P. A. Schilke ever sported that look - it was popular with Engineers. ?

And, yep, that’s a sweet lookin’ SuperCab!
