Installed my Barricade Rattler steps. All in all a very easy process. Loved that the Rangers have threaded holes for the steps from the factory.

Got to flex my electric ratchet and impact as well. So much faster than a hand tool. Also notice my fancy creeper. Only the most premium cardboard.

I use those same red neck creepers all the time.

Took truck for a 5000 mile oil change and to check the suspected puncture. They told me it was fine. I said "are you sure, I've inflated it twice." Took it back into the garage. Found a dirty great nail. No replacement tire in stock so I'm tottering around at 40mph on the shitty 16" spare until the new one arrives.

i went from the cardboard creeper to a hf one. honestly, the cardboard was better. it never wheeled out from under me when i was just about to make contact with it.

Honest opinion: love the wheels, did you use the same tyres? If so, they look bigger, probably the offset …
The rack? To me it looks too utilitarian, non elegant and possibly dangerous given the front overhang. If you could find a way to take it off, put it back easily when needed, I would go that way. Driving around with a bunch of empty pipes … meh :(.
Same tires removed 1.5 spacer. These new to me wheels have a -12 offset. I get what you mean on rack.

This is off of these big cardboard crates we get some of our stock orders in at my work. They are 3/4" thick. Super comfortable to lay on and they don't get hot in the sun. I keep a small one in the bed now that I have a tonneau cover. Lets me keep an eye on my diff for the next few weeks after Ford repaired it.

Ok so here is what I am toying around with so far. Gonna reserve my opinion till I get the rest knocked out to see an overall picture.

But feedback welcome whether it looks like shit or otherwise.

A little while ago I noticed my KB Voodoo Rack developing surface rust in quite a few places. Mostly in the area around the cutouts for the logo and bolt holes, but also some larger ones in the flat areas of the cross bars. Figured since I won’t be going camping in the next month, now would be a good time to remove the tent/rack so I can paint it. Truck looks naked with the tent and rack off.

Installed a Lido Radio LM-300-1001 Seat Bolt Mount With Microphone Hanger for my Yaesu FT-8900. The radio body is mounted low on the side of the console cover. At 22", this mount gets the detachable face plate and mic to a better operational level. The plastic cover that hides the seat mount bolt used to anchor the flexible rod had to be removed. I may be able to notch that cover to fit around the rod and pretty it up, but it's well out of sight so I'll save that for "Overachieving Day".

Besides bending the rod to suit position preferences, the face plate and mic holder are on gimbals so lots of adjustments are possible. As the photos show, it's a tight fit amongst the other controls and sight lines so adjustment capability is a "must have".

I pulled the Ranger out of the garage and popped the Nationwide SmartMiles module into the port under the dash. Then I warmed the truck up and took it for a short drive in the neighborhood.

According to the instructions, now I gotta make a few trips during the next few days in order for it to to activate/show up on the website. If I don't, I will have the normal rates.

I barely drive the truck, darn it. Don't make me drive it and put miles that I wouldn't normally put on it. That was the whole point of getting the low mileage insurance, wasn't it? :p

I also checked under the hood to make sure I haven't had any meeses munching on the wiring. My fellow Ranger5G members are making me worry about that, lol.

That's it on the left.

No meeses. I guess the hawks keep the rodent population down around here.

The engine still looks almost spotless, like the rest of the truck. It's 14 months old and has just a little over 2,170 miles on it.

Wow! I have 11 months with my ranger and 29000 miles!!!

The brain box is approaching the finish line. Won't be finalized till a little bit later this week I'm waiting on another set of relays and a few other miscellaneous parts to come in. Probably going to buy a piece of acrylic or similar to make a clear lid on this thing with some hinges and put a little computer fan in there to keep air circulating.

Trigger systems may be the hotness and be wireless but this thing is a damn work of art.

Thank you! Please post pictures from various angles. Related to the rack, if you like it and use it, it’s all that matters!
