I’d think twice about it. In fact I still have the second one in the box in the shed. It’ll never go back on my truck and I wasn’t fighting to return it again.
*** I take that back. I did throw the damn thing away. ***

So tempting. But so is the convenience of the aluminum pan. I have 10k before its time, so one more oil change to think. Definitely doing the Fitz stick, but undecided on pan options.

Ill keep the sucky flush for the bedroom. Neighbors dont need to see that in the garage.
Savage beast.

Here's my take on the pan replacement, you spend 30-50k on a vehicle and the transmissions have issues maybe because of heat and dirty fluid, so I want to give it every advantage to succeed.
Hence I went with an aluminum pan, the PPE, so it can help with heat transfer. Yes I can suck the fluid out of my Fitzstick with a pump but I want to remove all contaminents by removing the magnetic drain plug.
Also I will still use the pump to remove most of the fluid then remove the drain plug.
Moral of the story is whats 2-300 bucks in respect to 30-50k we spent on the vehicles. I would not cheap out and use a plastic pan with a drain plug. If I didn't want to spend the money I would just remove the fluid with a pump.

I did buy a deep aluminum pan for the extra capacity and any possible added cooling. Also bought the Fitzstick, which I mounted.
But prior to install of the pan, I talked with a Ford Master Tech, who said that if I were to have any tranny problems, once the service saw the aftermarket pan, the warranty would most likely be denied. Reason given that the pan holds more fluid than required/held by the OE pan, thus could be considered "overfilled" resullting in a trans failure.
Yes, you could argue the point that the pan was designed to hole 2 extra quarts, but who would be able to determine just how much fluid was in the pan.....not the dealer as it would be an aftermarket modification.
So, it would be up to you to argue and prove the point. You would most likely have to pay up front and try to recoupe from Ford after the repair.
This might be left up to each dealer as to how the modification is viewed, but I just decided not to chance it as we are out on the road towing, away from home a lot during the year and if something were to go wrong I would be stuck at whatever dealer I'm near.
So, since I have the extended warranty I decided to sell the new pan and just stick to the OE. If my Ranger had been/was out of warranty I would have installed it without a second thought.
Was told the Fitzstick would not void any warranty, as all it is is a measuring device similar to an oil dipstick.

Maybe ill just do the aluminum. My warranty ran out, right before my transmission took some time off.

Well, I guess I chose right as I chose the standard size PPE pan and by the way, had my Ford dealer install it. No mention of any warranty issues with the pan or my Fitzstick!!

A while ago I asked about a Fitzstick for my bronco an if I remember right was told one was in the works. If the guy that makes them sees this let me know if they are available.

Not trying to start a debate ( with my twin Fitzstick brother) but could they also say that the aftermarket stick in not accurate since it is NON OEM. ?

Had to share, I was going to get a $250+ pan just for a drain plug. Ill be ordering this instead. Doesn’t get hot enough here to need extra cooling anyway. This is awesome for fluid changes.

It made me way too excited.
check the other threads here, IRC the drain plug does leak but it fixable with a different crush washer ..........
