Speedo stopped reading at 130mph. GPS & laptop read 148mph, still pulling hard but had to slow down for other racers on the closed circuit course.
Bullshit.

This has never been done in a stock 5G Ranger EVER.

Where did I say it was stock?
The question you replied to, the OP, asked about stock.
I did a quick search and didn't see where anyone had posted top speed in their stock Rangers. I don't know what my top speed is but I know it's at least 102 mph. Don't ask HOW I know, I just know!
You didn't state otherwise.

So tell us, how much power to push that speed there buddy? And what kind of mods to get there?

No sir. 2022 2.3l Ecoboost. Miles per hour.
Thank you sir for your contribution to the Ranger. While I’ve got you, I just created a post about a TIP/Turbo charger boost sensor that sits on top of the intercooler. Do you happen to know of another Ford sensor that has the capability to measure over 30psi and would plug into factory Ranger connector? Thank you ? and Happy Thanksgiving
I’m afraid that’s out of my league !
Happy Thanksgiving to you !

You are correct, the post did say that. My apologies. I’m new here and just seen the latest posts about top speed. Thank you for correcting me. I’ll delete my post since it doesn’t apply to factory top speed. Happy Thanksgiving
You don't have to delete it just add the mods you've done so we all know.

No need for that.

I'm sure I'm not the only one that's curious about your mods.

Got her up to 90 passing a string of semi's on the way to Flagstaff...was relieved to get back down to the speed limit after that run.

Here's an amazing fact from Autobahn history…the fastest speed ever clocked under normal driving conditions was a Porsche at 236 mph! :surprised:

114! 2020 xlt 4x2

110! 2022 xlt fx2

What!!?!?!?!?

So my 2020 did 114. My 2022 does 110. So quite weird, not all rangers are created equal. The 2022 even gets better gas mileage. Same foot, gas, temps all that jazz. 2020 17mpg. 2022 20 or 19 mpg. So.........and 2022 is 200lbs heavier. As weighed by scales. ??

Eli, you're right about the variables. According to the service dept. at my dealer, their experience with the 5g's is that gas mileage is not consistent and differs from truck to truck.

Driving fast is one of those things where the only basic requirement is knowing how to depress the gas pedal, but driving fast in a controlled manor is completely different.

I have held a competition license for 30+ years, from Karts to stock cars, I have seen licensed drivers who are supposed to know how to handle a car at speed, screw up on a regular basis, if everything is perfect, all is fine, it's the slight variation, wobble, unexpected reaction to another object that sends things into chaos.

So the average Joe who occasionally wants to see how fast his ride will go usually comes away okay, but it's when things go wrong is where vehicles and people get destroyed, it's a fine line between good and bad at high speeds.

So when you start to get in a spin, what do you do? lock it down (apply the brakes) or do you pin the throttle? (to throw the vehicle in the direction of the rear end inertia) Haha, don't try to figure that one out, it's a oval track thing, but it does seriously apply in many, many situations.
