There's a lot of talk here about poor ride quality and how that relates to tire pressure.

How about we break that down and help each other from our own experiences

A) Tell us what configuration your truck is for ref.
SuperCab or SuperCrew
Lariat, XLT or XL
4x2 or 4x4
FX4 ?

B) Tell us what pressure you are running, if it's other than what's specified on the placard.....

C) Post up a photo of your tire pressure placard... If we don't know what size tire is on your truck... your
information won't be of much use to anybody.

SuperCab - XL - 4x4 - FX4, Currently running stock pressure: 38 PSI

When we picked up the truck the dealer hadn't dropped the tire pressure down and each tire was 48 PSI. It rode like Conestoga Wagon.

I have a SuperCrew 4X4 Lariat and the door says 30psi. Been running it at 33-34psi since day one. Great ride to me and great gas mileage. At 9100 miles on the tires and they look great!

Here is mine...they were over inflated when I drove off the lot, corrected that same day and the ride was night/day better. I have them set at 32psi when it sat for hours and was warm. Cold right now they register at 30psi

Same here, but my dealer had done the PDI and dropped them down to 30psi before I took delivery.
I just bumped them up to 32 a week ago and like the ride better.
I've ordered Winter/Snow tires and I'll be swapping to those in a few weeks since I have plans for more winter travels all across the state.

That's interesting same tires lariat 4x4 mine says 30. Like everyone else test drove it and took delivery with about 47psi. Had no problem with the ride. Then dropped it to 30 once I realized and hated it. Constantly bouncing, esp on highway and made my wife sick. As I've mentioned in another thread I raised it back up to 38 (about 36 now with the cold coming) and I am much happier.

someone should go-pro the rear tire for a drive.
I bet you can see the sidewall flex and that's likely a reason why you feel the bounce.

be interesting to see
That would be interesting to see.

Hmm my sticker says 30psi. All four tires were 41-42psi on delivery

Ride is a little bouncy, not as “planted” as my F150 SCrew 4x4 XLT was, but not a particularly bad ride. So far after 1300 miles, averaging about 21.5 mpg.

Seems I get better mileage off freeway (23-24mpg) than I do on (20-21mpg).

Just dropped the pressure down to 31psi cold. Will see if I notice a difference in the ride on my commute home today. My experience in general is a little higher pressure usually improve gas mileage 1-2mpg. Hopefully it doesn’t go down any with the lower pressure.

I don't want to remove the spare but I wonder if it's at 50psi like the rest when delivered...

Same here. Around 32 lbs cold and once hot they're right around 34-35 which feels perfect!
