How hard is it to get the logo off the tailgate? Can't tell what material it is. Thinking of hitting with the high pressure washer wand next time I'm at the self car wash.
Hi James,

The key in my mind is to get it before it gets to bake in the sun... I used some GooGone to soften up the adhesive a bit and a plastic razor blade to lift off the lettering. Then while the adheasive was still sticky I went to my shop with the letters and stuck them on one of my overhead cabinet doors in rearranged letters...So HORNE became HERO... :)

LT has a good point on this as well..

Best,
Phil

Just take a hairdryer and warm them up one letter at a time. Grab a corner and peel slowly while moving the hairdryer over it. They will come off easily that way and you can remove any excess glue with regular Iso alcohol. Just make sure you wax the area after.

Thanks everybody. That logo's days are numbered.

Front dealer tag, dealer license plate frame, and dealer sticker on the tailgate.

Personally, I don't want to give them free advertising after paying for a vehicle. But, also... realistically, I've never seen a piece of dealer advertising on a vehicle and thought, "That's a good looking vehicle. I should buy from that dealer."

I still can't seem to shut mine off. Doesn't show up on the touchscreen settings.
...And it never will.
It can be turned on/off in the Driver Information Display; the smaller screen between the gauges controlled from the upper left steering wheel pod.

It's in the Owner's manual:

Reminds me of a forklift I saw once in a warehouse. The clever dock crew had rearranged the stick-on lettering of their MITSUBISHI forklift to read, "HI SUBMIT"

So after buying my Ranger and getting it home I'm looking around from different angles and to me this just doesn't look right. Tall piece of black Tupperware.
Trying to figure out whether it is purely a design cosmetic feature (that seems to be on many cars and trucks now) or actually serves some purpose.
I know there are many who probably like it but it isn't working for me.
Anyway It was my first mod and I like it better with out.

Kevin,

I had a bit of FX4 envy until I removed that nasty thing from my Ranger. Do you still have the air dam? If you do, it can be modified to fill the gap between the factory skid plate and the lower bumper valance. I posted a thread with instructions - all the kids are doing it these days. ?

Ok...but there are folks here that have referenced the touchscreen in video form, I've watched the video, and your link to the owner's manual also references the touchscreen:
SWITCHING REAR OCCUPANT ALERT SYSTEM ON AND OFF 1. Press Settings on the touchscreen. 2. Press Vehicle. 3. Switch Rear Occupant Alert on or off. Note: The default setting is on. Note:performing a master reset causes the system to switch on again

That's the air dam, it is there to save MPG

Will scrape offroad

First things I took off were the front license plate bracket and the FX4 stickers, window stickers. Then the mods started
I took my bed decal off, too, almost as soon as I got it home. I hate stickers on a car. (That includes bumper stickers.) They look so tacky. If you want to designate my particular vehicle with some kind of trim declaration or engine configuration, then do it with an actual badge. Not some dumb sticker.

Dealer sticker and rear shocks, headlights, side markers, and fog light bulbs. that's about it for me.
You took our your fog light bulbs? Or you replaced them?

Same. They didn't pay to advertise on my truck.
I will never understand the people that leave those dealer decals or plates on their vehicle the whole time they own the car. Looks really tacky. And why would you advertise for a dealer if they aren't going to pay you for it? Pet peeve.

I had the DEALER take the dealer sticker off AT THE DEALERSHIP before I even drove it home. I always do that. I tell them they're going to do that before I even agree to buy any vehicle. I ain't advertising for them for free. And I tell them to not even bother putting on their frame. I have my own.

Within the first week of owning the truck, I replaced the tires, took the bed decals off, replaced all headlights/fog lamps with LED bulbs and turned off that darned auto start.

All other mods I did at a leisurely pace.
