  1. How do we feel about snorkels?

Snorkels are cool and even functional on certain off road vehicles. The US spec Ranger of recent vintage is not one of them. The alternator on the turbo 4 hangs off the bottom of the engine. Thus it will collect water/mud while fording streams. You will hear from from some gen5 Ranger owners how...
  2. Is there any significant benefit to having a cold air intake?

I like K&N filters for off-road racing. Not for street. K&N filters flow more air than stock (reportedly) but they also flow more dirt. Plain pleated paper is actually better at keeping dirt out.

  5. I love my Ranger, but I am trading it in.

You are obvs more than welcome to like any vehicle in the world. My bro likes Subarus, I’ve owned Subarus. I learned my lesson. It’s all good. Consumer reports and JD Power like Kias and Hyundais too but neither tests them out into higher mileage that real people put on their cars. It’s when the...
  6. I love my Ranger, but I am trading it in.

Subaru engines are problematic. They leak, they blow head gaskets. My brother (slow learner) has had several and admits now that the ownership experience has been negative. I’d recommend any all-wheel drive Toyota.
  7. Anyone install rear airbags?

Please: Where is the new hole drilled for the removed bracket material?
  8. Licence Plate Flip/Relocate

In my home state front plates are mandatory. I take a lot of trips out of state to camp, wheel and visit friends. I remove my front plate as I exit Texas and stick it back on as I return. The winch holds it on so It’s trivial to R&R.
  9. Ford Protect vs.....

I was a dealership tech in a BMW/Audi/Porsche shop. Customers will h aftermarket extended warrantees were universally ignored and underserved. People with factory extended warrantees were universally taken well care of. Aftermarket warranty providers are complete crap. We can’t collect and you...
  10. For those with Tremor Package

Here is my current Fuelly screen grab. 2021 Lariat Tremor SuperCrew. Normal speed is 75-85 mph (Texas!) I calculate every tank full, miles/gallons. 12. fire ext. in your ranger

The vehicle borne extinguishers are to the drivers and citizens they will rescue with them as security is to TSA, theater (for the most part). If you start the fire then you may have a chance to extinguish it. If its been burning a minute forget it, protect the exposures (trailers and whatnot...

  15. Other uses for overhead sunglass holder

They do have new eye glasses with darkening technology that works inside motor vehicles. I was offered that feature on my last pair.
  16. Does anyone care what Scotty Kilmer thinks?

    1. He’s a YELLER. I cut vids as soon as they start yelling. 2. Half of what he says checks out the other half is pure BS. 3. He broadcasts from his front driveway instead of an actual auto shop. What’s wrong with that picture? 4. He speaks in absolutes. No, I DGAF what he thinks.
  17. What are you running for a winch?

Smittybilt X2O GEN3 12K Winch with Synthetic Rope on a Shrockworks “Ultra light” mount.
