After my first offroad trip I took off all at once. Front air dam, crash bars, and sport decals on the bed.

had a lot of mods waiting for my new tremor but first day we removed stock exhaust as i hate how it looks on rangers and slapped on a MBRP exhaust, removed and put in blackened ford emblems, replaced the antenna and dealer plate then ofc the tailgate dampers ;)

First thing I removed were the Tremor rails/steps. Either I was gonna take them off or the trail was. However, that was short lived and I ended having to order a different set so my wife and friends elderly mother could get in and out without complaining or help. Rocksliders coming soon.

So after buying my Ranger and getting it home I'm looking around from different angles and to me this just doesn't look right. Tall piece of black Tupperware.
Trying to figure out whether it is purely a design cosmetic feature (that seems to be on many cars and trucks now) or actually serves some purpose.
I know there are many who probably like it but it isn't working for me.
Anyway It was my first mod and I like it better with out.

Hi Folks,

The first things I took off was the Dealer License Plate surround and the crappy lettering on the tailgate with their name.

I long ago at the advice of my friend and Indy Car driver, Howdy Holmes. No decal or sticker on your race car unless there is free $ or product. So no dealer advertisement for me...

Best,
Phil
How hard is it to get the logo off the tailgate? Can't tell what material it is. Thinking of hitting with the high pressure washer wand next time I'm at the self car wash.

depends on the dealer, they all use different vendors and stickers for their ad campains.

edit: I suppose I could have elaborated more... as Phil mentioned below, if its just a regular vinyl decal (probably most common these days) then some goo gone and a plastic razor should be great. The dealer my wife got her care from looked like a vinyl decal but it was actually sometime of thin metal that was an absolute nightmare to get off, but patience persevered. Any kind of raised logo (like the ecoboost logo on the tailgate, or stick on model lettering) is best removed with some type of thing string (i.e. thin fishing line, or doubled over floss) from the underside.

Note: it usually helps to heat it up a bit with a hair dryer (be extra careful with a heat gun) warm is good , dont burn your self.

..... and as mentioned, leftover residue can be cleaned up with goo gone. Im told that a little bit of wd-40 can work as well.
