We don't know anything about what the dude wants, needs, or desires. Just that his wife ok'd him to spend some money on his truck.

Are we to list every option available for him? Why? Sounds like somebody just wants us to paint his fence for him.


These types of threads are some of the worst types on automotive forums.

I don't see it as that at all. I see this as asking for recommendations because there are good options out there, and there are plenty of bad options. At the very least, there are some bumper options which are super involved and require a ton of cutting or welding in comparison to others. What is so wrong about asking for suggestions? If you have nothing nice to say, why not just say nothing?

What if his perfect solution is out there but nobody recomends it?

I have the Rocky Road Outfitters super sliders with the kickout in the rear. They bolt to the directly to the frame. While not as popular on this forum, they are well known in the Jeep community.

Straight up, their website turned me off to them. It's like a kid made it from MySpace code in 2005. Horrible.

I have the AFN bumper, which I love. I also have the White Knuckle Offraod sliders on my truck. They are really stout and have taken a beating. I have the flair version and the ones that are flat. My 5'2'' wife uses them as steps and they work great. If you are going to off road with them, get frame mounted sliders. Body mount will (at some point) crash into the body and cause damage. I know @UnregistredHypercam2 has smashed his floorboards (body mount) quite hard and has not had body damage, but... it can happen.

Dont got any pictures to assist but ARB does a nice Bull Bar and Rock Sliders that have an available fender tube protector. It is pricy all together but depending on what you do it may be worth it!!

Yes! You are correct! That’s usually when the truck gets parts or accessories!

I have Coastal Offroad Sliders. I did have to weld these up myself, but I was fine with that. Cheaper too.

I opted for the Shrockworks frame mounted sliders, didn't need them so much for steps as the boss is 5'10"

Just this past weekend, my financial advisor said the running boards were too high (she's 5' 1') and too narrow. After a bit of searching, the only reasonable thing I can find is AMP Research electric retractable running boards. They're low, wider than stock and tuck out of sight nicely when the doors are closed. Called my local shop today and it's $1800 installed but they're on back-order!

Your vision of how threads should go down does not sound like a very fun forum to me.

Just because the OP didn't give all the "clues" right away does not mean the thread is worthless, and with an attitude like yours, I doubt any of us care what you think.

Maybe go start your own forum, where everyone is not allowed to discuss the topic, but instead is directed to a Google search.
