Spare tire

Just curious if the upper trim levels (XLT, Lariat, Tremor, Splash) all have the same size spare, specifically the Tremor type packages? I have an XLT with the Black appearance package so I have the 18's w/265-60-18's. My spare is a 17 w/ 265-65-17 ( I think), but I'm looking to go to a "Tremor set up" 17"s w/ 265 or 275 70-17, so I assume my spare can still stay the same as what I already have?

Tremors have the same size spare as the rest of the truck. 265/70/17. It’s on a steel rim though.

I have a '21 Tremor Lariat and it came with the same size spare. The tire size on stock Tremor's are 265/70/17.

Weird that "tremors" got the same tire size, but my spare is a different size tire, but still on a 17" steel wheel

It will fit just fine. I have a 34" tire under there, with no issues.

Hey Morgan,

I’m sure Ford is just trying to save money with spares on steelies but they also typically run the spare on a smaller wheel - maybe so the total weight is similar? Who knows but it does cause some confusion for folks.

Your existing tires and spare are of similar diameter (30.5” and 30.6”)

Your two choices are bigger by 1” and 1-1/2”.

You might want to consider a similar diameter spare, as with Tremors. Not absolutely necessary but makes things much simpler if you ever need it.

You could keep the same wheel, but I would change the tire to match at the least. This way you won't have deviation while driving in the chance you have to use the spare. The ABS will notice and cause problems when driving if tire size is different.

I was playing around with this today. Ford has specials on tires right now(buy 3, get 1 for $1), so I went from BFG KO2's(now discontinued) to KO3's. LT265/70R17, and I haven't looked at the spare, but I assumed it was 265/65R17? Anywho, I know that while my stock OEM wheels were 17x8, my current wheels are Ford Performance & they are 17x8.5. Today I learned that my spare is supposedly 17x7.5.

I ended up ordering another Ford Performance wheel to use as spare(it was cheap, like $165 or something), and saved one of my old KO2's to mount onto it as it still has decent amount of tread left.
