I actually use them. So instead of sliding into the seat and causing the wear and tear all drivers seats get on the door side, I try to step unto the truck. 6'1 here.
Same here.

Jealous? Really? Shake your head.

Not everyone buys a truck as mall crawling status symbol so they can pretend they're not an accountant.
Mall crawl lol. This is a purpose built vehicle. You'd have to be a moron to spend that much money to not regularly use it hunting/off-road, etc. I actually split first blood on it today, got a turkey with my bow!

The issue I have is that I hit leg day hard and my calves are the size of watermelons…. I wear these scratches like a badge of honour. Like bikers and their pipe burns. Yeah, just like that! And I off-road my truck, and haul stuff. Firewood! I haul firewood! I even have a chainsaw! I do truck stuff with my truck and have blood stains on my crew socks.

I definitely do not like my Tremor steps. I get road rash if I have shorts on or dirty my pant leg if I have long pants on. If I actually step on them I have to do a deep knee bend to get down into the cab and my 69 year old knees don't like it.

The simple solution would be to remove them but with a 5' 3" wife the steps are nessary for her. I am to OCD to remove just the one on the driver's side and too cheap to buy the power retractable ones. I am doomed to road rash or dirty pants or sore knees.
I won't lie, I put some AMP electric steps on my last 1/2 Ton pickup, 2" lift and some big old Duratracs. My wife is 5'0" and 100 lbs soaking wet with rocks in her pockets. Getting up into the cab of that truck was a scramble. Those AMP steps were the BOMB, worth every penny. They fold way up out of the way and deploy halfway down on the side a door is opened.

Of course, not a good choice (Tremor steps as well), if you need actual sliders. :)

The one nice thing about them is they do help with door dings. I have picked up a few door dings on my 2019 about where the steps would protect them. If someone slams a car door into those steps it'll mess up theirs more then the truck.

So non-tremors owners are jealous, some tremor owners are accident prone, and other tremor owners are morons. Got it.
No, the people that pay for something they know they don't like and then come on here to complain about it are the issue. But yes, if you're buying off-road equipment to not actually use it and mall crawl, you'd be a moron.
Wow Chris. I guess you have just called me a moron for not taking my Tremor, when I get it, hunting / off roading regularly. I was always told not to look down on others that do things different than I do. In any event, I hope you have a good day.
This forum has the most thin skinned grown ass men I've ever seen. Someone insulted me calling me a mall crawler and I get tons of shade for snapping back at them. Be mad all you want, words on the internet can't hurt you.

I purchased my first new vehicle 49 years ago and have averaged a new vehicle every 5 years since. Not once ever have I considered or purchased a new vehicle that didn't have something I didn't like. I have either modified the vehicle to my liking or learned to live with the things I don't like.

To suggest folks are jealous, accident prone or are morons because you are of a different opinion is uncalled for. For someone new to this forum you are not going to earn any respect with those kind of comments.

This must be a short person issue. I’ve never used them or hit my legs on them. Need a poll.

I have a Tremor on order and the first thing I will do when I get it is take the steps off. I personally won't use them and they do land in an awkward spot for me when getting in and out of the cab. I reckon it will take me about 20 minutes to get them off. No big deal.

Probably just stash them in the shed for the next owner who might fancy them and of course to give my wife a reason to jam me about hanging on to all "that junk". :)

It's actually more an 'average person' issue.

Short people need the step; so they use it every time they get in and out.

Tall people do not need the step, and can climb into the seat directly from a foot planted on the ground. They can also reach beyond the step to plant their foot directly on the ground when getting out.

The average people... we're stuck. We can't climb straight into the seat from a planted foot as it requires a bit of a reach and jump, and we can't place our foot straight onto the ground beyond the step without a slight 'hop' to get out. This is where the shin and calf scrapes come from. :p

I'm convinced the tremor side step hate is a jealousy thing or due to people that are accident prone. I think they look great and they aren't in the way at all. How about learn to walk/get out of a car like a normal person or don't be clumsy and you won't run into stationary objects?
I am already on record as not liking the factory Tremor steps. I am average height, but I am tall enough to easily get in without the steps and prefer to hop out without them, too.

This is not about being clumsy at all. It is about the distance away from the truck and the height of the steps that makes them hard to avoid when getting out without using them.

The issue that no one has mentioned here yet is how obtrusive the steps are in situations where you cannot open the door all of the way, like when parking next to another vehicle or if you park on the driver's side of the garage.

If there is no car or wall next to me, it is easy to open the door wide enough to step out and avoid scraping the steps, but when you can only open the door to the first detent, good luck!

IMO, they look cool, but they are a poor design.

After investigating the Tremor here at Ranger5G prior to purchase, I anticipated problems with the steps. Leg rubbing was a frequent new owner complaint. Turns out that I like the Tremor steps, aesthetically and practically. No problems here. Septuagenarian, 5'7".

Don’t be fooled! Those are DUAL purpose folks. Really work nice to plant square on the skinny stick for maximum velocity ?
