Sure you'll come up and take care of his Ranger. I see how you are.
While Dave takes care of the Ranger, I’ll take care of the house - party at Bill’s!

God bless and a speedy recovery. Just make sure there is no video in the recovery room. Don't need video proof of anything said coming out of anesthesia. My wife swears that after my back surgery, I asked if she and the nurse wanted a threesome.

They will be sawing my hip joint out first thing tomorrow and hopefully installing a new steel version in its place.

The joint they showed me was a chrome looking gadget and I did inquire to see if they had the sport blackout version, but the surgeon said no, just the chrome look, so it isn't going to match the truck, bummer...

I had a first cousin who never came home from his knee replacement surgery (my sister actually found him dead in his recovery room, suboptimal). So if blood clots after joint replacement run in the family and I don't make it, I just wanted to make sure anyone I might have slighted along the way here knows, it was me not you. :)

Cheers, see you all next week sometime.

Hope all goes well. My daughter is a surgical rep for a major robotic joint replacement company. She has showed me what goes into planning these surgeries. The technology is amazing. Prayers for you all going forward.

The tooling necessary to do these procedures is pretty mind blowing. Guides, Templates, tools. What is really nuts is the manufacture and tolerances involved for the implants themselves. Full traceability from metal ingot to sterilized kitted implantable devices.

Wishing you the best Bill. I know of several people having the hip replacement and all are doing well. Take care of yourself and follow the instructions.

Good luck Bill!! At least you'll know your Ranger is safe and will be in one piece. Your house on the other hand, not so much.

Did you see what Duke did to my house when we were on vacation?? :surprised:

Wishing you a quick recovery Bill. Will you be having this done at St Luke's or St Alphonsus?
Too bad they didn't offer the blackout version.
Mine is at Treasure Valley Hospital. A bunch of orthopedic surgeons own it and all they do at the hospital is knees, hips and shoulders. It gets rave reviews, I will report back. ;)

Good luck...not a fun trip....I had that done when I was 37...beat up my left hip doing stupid things....that wore out 5 years later and had to do a revision....I'm 64 now and hope that was my last replacement...BTW, my doctor explained to me that while the patient is out and hip is cut off, they place your leg up like you're doing a vertical split so they can hammer that bionic joint into your hip...imagine that... o_O ?
I heard that but figured they were making it up…:crying:

Probably be the only time I get a pass for that, but on second thought, maybe I better lock up all the guns before I leave. I never did give her the combo to the safe. ;)

Good luck Bill. I had to have surgery once and the doc told me to take low -dose aspirin in the days leading up to the surgery to prevent blood clots. If not taking it I'd call the doc to check with first obviously and maybe jump on it depending on what he says. Mine was pretty adamant about it.
I am on the low dose aspirin. I also just finished the T-1 checklist, it is right out of the movie Andromeda Strain, double disinfectant shower, you name it. I feel like they are sending me to space. Thanks for the tip though, it is probably my biggest reservation. But I think this guy is pretty good, sure hope so. ;)
