Can't offer advise, but wonder how the ranger could be 'stiff'. Is yours not the FX4, cause seems most people complain about the FX4 being too bouncy on the road. Maybe the non FX4 or the 2023 got tweaked a bit?

Hello Ranger Family.
I just got a new to me ford ranger. I am looking to upgrade the ride. I want it level and less stiff.
What upgrades do you recommend?

There is some information on a facebook group I’m in that a lot of people are putting Toyota springs and shocks on. Apparently they bolt on and made for a lighter load and different tuning and make for a significantly better ride.

Not opposed to spending $200-$300 as long as it’s a significant improvement. There seems to be a lot of Toyota parts on the used market for good deals, but I can also buy new as long as it’s in budget.
You can do something for under $200. BUT ... it also greatly depends on your needs.

For me, this mod made a noticeable difference: https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/what-did-you-do-to-your-ranger-today.3511/post-601633

I used Eibachs, but more or less the same thing. But, for me, it was to tame some of the bouncy bouncy on the roads, which the rears did for me. I can still feel the front bounce a bit, but I can live with it.

But, I'm not sure what OP is looking to do. Remove some of the stiffness? In what way. I have a feeling it's not gonna be what he wants, but, I don't know what he wants :)

In the long run, it's a truck and it's probably still going to ride, more or less, like a truck no matter what is done.

Interesting comments. I feel like I’m getting shade from a lot of you, which is upsetting. I was just trying to get information.
To the guy with the Yoda meme, do the Toyota parts fit? If so, which ones?
Tom, do those level the truck?

Will they fit? Might not be a bad option
Yes they will.
And it's a very bad option.
Serious business, mate...don't put any of that Toyota crap on your truck. Save your pennies if necessary and get some legit aftermarket parts for your suspension setup as the other more knowledgeable peeps here are trying to point you to.

Yes, you're getting some shade, but only because you're considering Toyota parts in a Ford. There was a thread weeks ago from a guy trying to tell us all how awesome Toyota bump stops were on a Ranger application and he would not listen to reason from some incredibly intelligent members here.

Listen to these guys, brother. They know their stuff and will point you in the right direction.

As for me, I'd advise you not to put cheap shit on your truck just to save a dollar or three. Save up and use quality parts engineered for our trucks.

Chris, I was just reading the bump stop thing. They seem to work for him. I will try to message him for info. I looked up the part and it is fairly cheap and he said a good upgrade. I would like to get a good upgrade package, but I do not have the money. I just got a part time job as a server, so that’s why I bought the truck. It was a big upgrade over my Taurus. I want to spend the other time over landing and creating content. Hopefully that takes over, then I can get the full package that the other members recommend.

Why the Toy Yoda jokes. They are popular and a lot of the over land content creators drive them for a reason??? This truck was cheaper monthly payments so I got this instead. More upgrades.:)

Well....Toyota jokes because this is a Ford forum.
As for the bump stop thing...sheesh. There's a dozen or more guys on here that can explain the engineering behind suspension parts of all types. I'm not one of them. All I know is I wouldn't put parts on my truck engineered specifically for other brands of trucks. Aftermarket parts engineered for MY truck, maybe. Toyota parts on my truck just because they fit? Thank you but no.

But you do you, mate. Best of luck. Keep us posted on how all that works out.

The Eibach or Bilstein shocks on the rear solve a lot of the bouncing with the stock suspension. The stock shocks are weak an the truck keeps rocking after hitting a bump. The aftermarket shocks are better an control the motion better. Dollar for dollar the best upgrade I made to my ranger. The Livernois tune was the second.

Keep an eye out for some Ranger Tremor rear springs in the classifieds. They ride nicer an pop up now an then when someone upgrades for serious off road capability.

The Toyota Tacoma (2nd & 3rd Gen) top mounts, although very close in design use a different bolt pattern. If redrilled, it could be possible. I have actually dipped my toes into this, trying to get a longer travel shock up front. You would also need a minimum of a 3" lift probably.

He 'said' it was a good upgrade because he has no idea of how the suspension in the truck is designed to work.

Do yourself a favor and steer away from the 'cheap' rubber bump stops, that is not how our suspension is designed to work. It is designed to work with a more compliant 'active' bumpstop, which those wheeler stops are not.

You come on a Ranger forum asking to put Toyota parts on one and your surprised you get shade from it?

Seriously you spend 30k, 40K+ for a vehicle (any vehicle I don't care what it is) and want to put cheap parts on it just doesn't make any sense to me. You've heard the saying "buy once cry once" well that's true for most things. Buy quality parts and do it right the first time. Unless you like tearing things down and doing them over and over again but that's the definition of insanity.
