Hello Ranger Family.
I just got a new to me ford ranger. I am looking to upgrade the ride. I want it level and less stiff.
What upgrades do you recommend?

There is some information on a facebook group I’m in that a lot of people are putting Toyota springs and shocks on. Apparently they bolt on and made for a lighter load and different tuning and make for a significantly better ride.

Not opposed to spending $200-$300 as long as it’s a significant improvement. There seems to be a lot of Toyota parts on the used market for good deals, but I can also buy new as long as it’s in budget.

I've not read of anyone using Toyota suspension components on a Ford Ranger

There are many threads here on shock upgrades. Most go with the major brands...Eibach, Bilstien, Fox. I have Fox 2.0s all around and am very happy. All three of the before mentioned will greatly improve the ride quality and allow for some leveling. Choose the brand that has the characteristics you are after.

$200-300 will barely get you the rear shocks upgraded, assuming you do the labor yourself.

I would definitely go with something made for Rangers. I'm not sure how it would go swapping out parts from Toyota. I went with FOX all around, 2.5's in the front and 2.0's in the back. FOX is a bit more expensive but you get what you pay for.

First I’ve heard of people putting Toyota shocks or springs on a Ranger.

Also, first I’ve heard of being able to upgrade suspension on such a limited budget. Good luck.

Then there is the warranty issue. Your Ranger is a 2023, so still (probably) under warranty. If any of those "other parts" fail, causing damage or failure of the Ford parts, your warranty will go out the door.......

YESSS!
Because we KNOW those bump stops will fit! ?

Dear friend...don't put those Toyota parts on a real truck.

I already plan on tuning it, so there is no warrantee either way. I found a few tunes for $350 that are pretty good.

Will they fit? Might not be a bad option
Why limit one's self to the suspension, maybe that Yota V6 and 6 speed tranny will slip right in, you want a vehicle where the drivetrain and suspension work in harmony. Oh what a feeling ! Let's go places.

Not sure why you are going this route or considering going this route
(if even possible) with Toyota parts.
You could just trade it in on a Toyota.

Not trying to be a smart ass but doesn't seem like good idea.
$200-300 hundred would only get you a front spacer kit and alignment.

Consider saving up and getting the correct parts for the truck.
Many great options.

I went for the Fox 2.0 to level and Fox in rear for the second time on my second Ranger.
I use my truck on and off road regularly and find the Fox set up to be very big improvement
and would do it a 3rd time if it came time again.

Many others are having great results with Bilstein, OME, Eibach, etc..
The Eibach - Stage 1 will give you front spring and shocks all the way around for under a grand
you'll still need to do the work yourself and will need an alignment to stay around a grand.

Again plenty of options for a good level and shock set up but you are taking about $1K + easy
on a good day + alignment especially if you are not doing the work yourself.

Best of luck moving forward - let us know how it goes
