You are correct, I didn't bother because it;s pointless. Go break something and then comeback and tell us how well they treat you.

I'd rather here from someone who had to take there truck in under these conditions and reports all is well. They don't, bc that is why everyone talks about this. They find a way to screw you out of what you thought was the deal. There is the real issue. If it didn't get them off the hook then the trucks would come that way. Now you can stop with the nit picking and understand the narrative.
My truck came with a lifetime powertrain warranty. Prior to me buying my Ranger the dealer contacted the backer of that warranty to inquire about how the FP tune, when installed at the selling dealer, would impact that coverage. Their response, if it is a Ford Accessory (Yes, it could be bought as a Ford Accessory) installed by the dealer it would not impact their coverage at all. In reading the contract on that warranty I had a question about the oil change requirements, as they stated 3,000 mile changes regardless of manufacture recommendations.... unless the vehicle calls for synthetic. Well, I was not sure how they defined synthetic, did a synthetic blend meet the requirement, or does it have to be full. Anyway, confirmed that blend is considered synthetic by them and I also asked again about the FP tune, and again they were clear, that if it's a ford accessory and installed at the dealer, no impact. So, I bought my tune through Ford Accessories and had my dealer install it. I'm not worried at this time, and if I find myself in need of a claim and they deny it,, I'll have to address that with them at that time.

Sounds like a good carrier to get a warranty from. Can you let us know who that is?

This is why I always state to "Read The Fine Print" when it comes to Extended Warranties and aftermarket accessories like Tunes.

I installed the Roush CAI & cat-back exhaust, then added the Ford Performance tune. Definitely a big difference over stock performance, more power, smoother shifting through the gears, and Grey went from 23mpg to just under 28mpg. Might be coincidence, but I switched from Shell 91 to E0 91 octane fuel at right around the same time I installed the tune. (I promptly lost a portion of that good gas mileage 3 weeks later when I went to 275/70R17s...). I use the K&N filter that came with the tuner only when the Roush filter needs a bath, my thought here is that the Roush filter has a larger surface, so better air flow. Maybe? Either way, I don't think the CAI or the exhaust contributed all that much to the increase in power or fuel mileage; it was mostly the tune that did the magic. All in all I am very happy with the set-up, can only recommend it.

Pauline, you’ve highlighted what really matters when it comes to performance goodies. You have to beef up the parts that take air (or fuel & air) in, what spits them out, and the brain that controls how it all comes together (the tune). On their own, they are lost. Together, they only work when you take care of the yin and the yan.

I’m nearing my extended warranty expiry date and it’s either trade it in for a Raptor or get a Roush tune and exhaust to go with my Roush CAI, and start challenging any Ranger Raptor whenever I see one at a red light. Of course, it will kick my butt from hear to Kalamazoo off-road, but has anyone ever seen one off-road except on YouTube?

You are so right, Duke, those RRs would kick our butts! I would love to test one of them at Raptor Assault school, so long as it is someone else's truck. So far my favorite thing about the new Raptors is that they come in green, and I'm sure what's under the hood is awesome. I just like the faces of our generation better, they have a bit of a mean wink. Looks may not be everything, but they still matter ?
I have a CAI and MBRP exhaust to my 2007 Ranger (Scarlett) as well, just no tune. I did notice a slight increase in power and mpg there as well, though not as much as with Grey. Scarlett is my daily cruiser, whereas Grey is slowly morphing into an overlander. It's still a very long wish list of mods, and spending time in the forum only gives me more ideas ?. I'll start a showcase on her soon, just need to get around to taking some photos while exploring the Rockies.

Best,

Pauline
