wow, that is some heavy residue on the plugs. Most of the ends look in ok shape considering. What fuel did your run the majority of the time? It will be interesting to note later for myself.
Hmm. Yeah, that seem like a setup issue with the suspension, tires, ext. The solution I gave is for poorly map shifting issues that the ecu logged over time. Say you drove bad gas or like granny. The ecu logs that and delivers different performance. I would update my truck say with a intake...
here is TSB doc from Ford. May not be your issue. Have you trade a Reset of the Learning Systems. Unplug the battery for 10mins. then drive 20 min to rest the learning on the Keep alive Memory. Or reset if you have a Procal 4. I do a Reset after tuning.
Are you sure it isn't just the motor at...
FYI, this plus the CVF pipes kit added amazing throttle response starting at 2200 RPM. It rips gears, cools tears. No more heat soke issues and it really brings the truck alive. Note: I have Intake mods exhaust that was probably hungry for a restriction fix. I'm saying 20% better response...
They are not going to protect the warranty without having a pro install it. You don't need a Mechanic if you don't care about that. It is a nice bump to power. you will get the most on E30 fuel. Mine ran 297.6 WHP at 349TQ, with the FPT on E30 fuel. I have a intake and exhust to but that may be...
Have one, use it everyday. works great. can me customized if you want to learn it. or plug and play and get more power. It nets more that the Ford tune if you buy the app and BT for tuning. no adjustment to the Transmission just more go in the turbo.
End of the day I went with a dual option Rapid induction intake from AFE. It has a open box design that fits on the OEM lower. got the closed end cover for quieter operation. make a big sound difference. CLosed are cooler under little drive or heavy heat days. Sounds mean and turbo loud when...
A lot of this a best guess stuff. We really only know DI motors have value issues per the design. How bad it will get is just a matter of usage. We also know these motors run better with quality octane fuel. Pick your hill and die on it. FOR AGATHA!!!
The diff is greed.
I am going to see if I can make the Ford tune handle the after market DP with a boost controller. once i satisfy my curiosity then maybe a custom tune. For the simple solution just have a Tuner do the work.
You are not wrong. I would modify the schedule based ones own driving style and habits. Never go over the schedule usually. Accelerate is where needed based on your foot, load, environment.
Do what you like man, and spend the money how you want. I prefer spending money going fast and clean vs paying to fix largely addressable problems. At the end of the day, we are all dumping thousands of dollars in maintenance. I rather give it to the truck now than the dealer later. Cheers
Marketing. People by K&N from Autozone. It is probably fine. I drove 150K miles on one no issues. maybe cleaned it 3 times. It is still the dirtist media for filtering of all the ones i have seen. the AEM Dryflow looks like the good simple solutions. High flow, High filtration %, no oil to mess...
.
Dirty is a convenient word I used as satire for my Rot Gut statement. 87 to 91 is not a dirt scale per se. 2.3l EB is a Direct injection motor designed for Higher compression. Ford tunes them so buyers can use 87. Lower octane is prone to Knock (Pre-ignite) which can be damaging and dirty...
Yeah they did that to slight the Gov and tried to hide as Offroad only but marketed with intent to public road use. The Gov should leave us alone. 70+ of emission pollution is Commercial and one a fraction of personal car owners mod. I rather just pay a tax to make them feel ok with stealing my...
I don't want to bite on this but hey why not. Good thought but not their primary reason. The rules here include modification too. Many of their customers and other mods catted cars are getting straight rejected regardless of the emission reading. Also reliability issues with High flow cats. They...
