I have been looking around for an affordable Tonneau cover for my 2022 Tremor. I plan to use it 6 months out of the year (tailgating season so no one tries to steal my yeti and snowboarding season). I didn't want to spend a ton on the hard covers. I ended up going with Rough Country's soft cover tri-fold cover for $229:
Soft Tri-Fold Bed Cover | Ford Ranger 2WD/4WD (19-23) | Rough Country

I figured I would share my initial review with the group.

First impression - VERY pleased with the quality of the vinyl and overall structure of the cover. For $229 it seems like a great bargain. The install was very simple. 20 minutes total. When the tailgate is locked, it is secure. Obviously if someone really wanted in they could take a knife to the vinyl but I'm more interested in protecting from the quick grab and go when I have tailgating gear and snowboarding gear in the bed.

I took it for a drive up to 75mph and no noise or flapping around whatsoever. Overall, very pleased with the cover quality and ease of use.

I will update this once weather starts to roll-in. Seems pretty weather tight but the Oregon fall/winter will be a good test.

Hope this helps anyone in the market for the budget end of tonneau covers.

Suggestion: take it through a car wash or just use your garden hose to soak the heck out of it and see how much water gets inside... if any.
I have the same tonneau cover, very minimal water gets in.

I have a different but very similar soft tri-cover (Extang) and love the basic overall design of these. Easy as heck to install and remove as needed and everything but the front bed seal comes off. I I had one on my previous F-150 as well and forgot to latch it in the folded position and it almost flew off when reached about 50MPH, damaging it, so don't do that. I also saved a young lady who gave me a ride kayaking from the same fate when she almost didn't latch them.

None of the roll up/fold up tonneau covers are 100% water proof, but if good quality and installed correctly, probably 95-97% leak proof.
Even my higher prices LoPro lets a little water in at the front corners and around the tailgate corners. Not enough to cause me any worry, but just enough to get the corners of my Bed Rug damp.
But it still keeps our camping chairs, tables, "stuff" dry. That stuff gets wet while we're camping anyway, so no harm. The air compressor I keep in the bed stays dry, along with any hitch equipment I keep in the bed.
Spraying the corners/edges directly or soaking them with a garden hose isn't a real test of what a rain shower would do. The only time I have found dampness is after driving through a very heavy rain....light shower or raining on Truck while parked...stays dry.

Does that cover fold all the way up against the window if you need the entire bed open? If not, that would be a no go for me.

I have a Truxedo Truxport vinyl roll-up, goes all the way to the window. I often need the whole bed open. Looks like OP's when closed. Pretty much waterproof, doesn't cost a lot.

At first I got a Trail FX cover, pandemic was just beginning and it was all I could find. POS, instructions were poor and mounting hardware was very flimsy. Took it back to the truck accessories store within a few hours for a refund. Do not recommend.

Agree... but it would seem to be a significant data point when selecting a tonneau and why I was curious how his was working in that regard. A couple of the "hard" roll up type users said they leaked badly... not what I was hoping.

I never had a tonneau before, opting for the Leer Topper on my other Rangers. So when I got the 5G, I knew I did not want a topper on it so went with "standard" Ford tonneau (manually rolls up and Velcros to the bed rails) to have on it from day one; figuring I could change it later if need be. It keeps things inside is amazingly dry... so far so good.

But I keep an eye on the other tonneaus (and reviews of them) to see if there is a better option worth the cost of switching... so far, no.

That’s the one I have and have no complaints. I put some thick foam at the front of the bed for the open space and rubber seal at the tailgate and no water gets in.

I bought the Rough Country Soft Tonneau cover for my Ranger XLT three years ago, mostly because of price and have been very happy with it.

I guess additional question.... Looks like you have a drop in bed liner.
That’s the one I have and have no complaints. I put some thick foam at the front of the bed for the open space and rubber seal at the tailgate and no water gets in.
Did you use the seal that comes with the bed cover or a different one? Just ordered today but want to get some insight from people using it already!
