You just have to figure out which stations aren't trying to rip you off.

I noticed on "gas buddy" they don't always have prices on mid an premium. I click on the stations an look at the spread between the grades. The station by me is off the beaten path an most days doesn't even have a price for regular on the app. From what I see here the top tier stations are pretty much always 50 cents to go up to mid an a buck to get premium. Yeah, down here basically nothing is updated on GasBuddy, and some shell stations are $1 to premium, but some are only $.40 and there's no way to know until you go there. I pretty much use QT exclusively now because they also aren't unreasonable to premium.

Terrible when towing, good when unloaded. It seems like mid teens is the best I will get towing anything bigger than a utility trailer, unless I am on flat ground.

I thought I should start a thread about what kinda mileage eveyoeve is getting.

Include the type of driving you do city/highway %, driving style, gas used, if your using the auto start/stop feature and aprox engine mileage.


So I'm on my third tank of gas and tgt mileage has been improving.

I used to get about 21.5 but ive added a lot of weight to the truck. if i control my right foot spasms its 20.5 now.i did about 300 miles today 250 was highway the rest was off road and it worked out to 20.5.

Had a highway road trip last week where I had 180 miles each way. Speeds ranged from 55 to 70 in the rolling hills of Tennessee and Alabama. Highest average ever at 25.9 mpg manually calculated and was a trip computer indicated 26.4 mpg. Stock 2021 Ranger Tremor running 92 octane and 35 psi in the general grabber atx stock tires. My normal blend of driving around town and on highway usually works out to 21 mpg manually calculated.

When I see mpg's reported over 23/24 I wonder if they are hand calculating or trusting the computer. Mine was off 1.5 mpg before I calibrated it. I had it where it was usually within .3. I almost always got gas at the same station so the pump kicking off would be somewhat consistent.

I've only hand the chance to hand calc my bronco 1 time an it was came out .7 optimistic. If it's around that every time I may not bother calibrating it.

Stock tires and not a lot of lift or roof drag makes it pretty easy to get these numbers out of the ranger, especially if you're easy on the go juice. I can still get 23-24 if I'm nice and going the right speed on the highway with 32" wildpeaks.

I shopped for the lightest 265/70's I could find an bought the nitto's that were the second lightest at 6 pounds over stock, I added a 1.8" Bilstein front lift an an Livernois tune an I lost 1.5, 2 if I was doing a lot of highway at speeds over 75. I did calibrate the speedometer too. I generally drove to get decent mileage with the occasional rabbit start to play with the tune.

The worst I got was a 2 hour stretch on the highway. I filled up, jumped on the highway into a stiff wind an set the cruise at 82. I was showing 16 mpg an hour an a half into the ride. The best I got a filling up getting on the highway an going with the wind at 62 an I showed almost 30 mpg after 45 minutes, the ride home I went 70 into the wind an the avg dropped all the way back to 23.9.
