I am super tempted on this and the question applies to the stupid expensive option as well.

Did they cut the tube and stick off to save money or will having a tube or whatever allow fluid to go up it? Creating a problem. I'm probably thinking something like windage causing it that shouldn't be an issue with a trans that doesnt rely on splash... at all...... However... any chance that might cause an issue? Feel free to say "no dipshit" and move on if you actually know how the trans works. Weirdly worried about allowing fluid up a tube/pipe/hose/etc vs the stock dipstick nub that caps right by the case....

I've also had a few mid strength beers so my logic is probably three sorts of no right now.

In reality id love to see the level, fluid color, easy top off, and when I get around to a spill and fill.. adding the metal pan with a drain (around 50k miles). So... I'll be in line to buy this when ready. Not a hater or skeptic.

Also, maybe get a list of those willing to throw real money at this once you are done with testing. If you do.... add me to the list. Especially if you include some sort of how to not be a dumbass instructions.

Yep, Fitz is a stand up dude. I'd fund it as well.

Also planning a spill and fill at 50k which is soon.

I think leaving it here is fine.

I'd be willing to front some cash for this as well.

I planned on installing the B&M dipstick and changing the fluid when I replaced the stock pan with the PPE deep pan. I've already purchased both, but I am now on hold waiting to see how this plays out. If he makes this I'm in as well. I will be out $200, but this is clearly a superior solution.

But add all those deleted features up per vehicle, multiply it by how many ever vehicles made in a year... and it's suddenly millions upon millions of dollars.

Ford's been doing this because they're in bad shape. It was/is either make big changes and start saving some money or else go bankrupt.

personally, I'd rather have some deleted items than see ford go under OR have the government pay to bail them out.

the damn economy isin bad enough shape already.
Just raise the price $100 and keep the needed parts (like the dip stick, passenger carpet pins, Hood struts, and the tie down loops). I think that there is more to it than simply parts pricing.

Damn you guys, thanks.

You know this is all your fault, it all started with this post, I had made one for the Raptor I traded in on the Ranger and I was going to make one for the Ranger eventually, then this post pops up, got me thinking "well, I need one for the Ranger, and I wonder how many people REALLY would buy one" well I'm going to try and find out.

I'm off to the hose shop this morning to get my first sample, crimped ends, steel braided nylon, we will see if it is good, not too stiff and exact length.

Then it's finalizing the bracket, the upper fitting and off to the machine shop.

I think I'm good going forward with this project as far as funds go, thank you so much for the offer.
I may actually need it if the minimum production numbers are too high, gotta find a shop willing to do a run of 20-50, maybe 100 depending on cost.

You guys are crazy motivation for me, thanks.

Love what you've come up with. Much better than the generic B&M stick. I'm sure a lot of the forum membets will be in on this. As I said before I was going to put the B&M stick in but when this came up I decided to wait and see where this was going. You've come up with a much better solution, so now I'm waiting for you to get it finished and out to us.

Great job!!! :clap::like:?

Alright got the first test piece, it's still -10 but the wall thickness is much thinner, so it's much smaller and even more flexible.

I happened to walk into the shop that does all of B&M and Moroso's dipstick hoses, go figure... what's the chance of that?

They were very cool, I asked "any conflict of interest" they said no, they also went on to say they ship out about 200 of them a month.

Pricing was steep for the one, but they gave me a okay price on 25-100 hoses.

I'm machining the bracket today and hope to have a file for it soon, then It's off for bracket quotes.

Just to be clear!! this is only for the 2.3 engine, I would like to expand onto other engines and models if this works out.
