Retired, work is a four letter word.
Yes, of course. I was just reading these threads and was trying to understand why people would choose and expensive $250 dipstick, or any non-OEM dipstick over just letting the dealer deal with it.
And if your dealer is 100 miles away?, or if your Tranny is acting up a bit and you just want to check the fluid level? As a lifelong 'wrench' I hate taking my vehicle to the 'Stealer' for anything. Now if you don't know the difference between #1 and a #2 Phillips then yes, by all means take it in. The fact that Ford wanted to save a couple bucks and push service to the dealer by deleting the dip stick just pisses me off.

They sure deleted a lot of stuff that wouldn't have cost much to include!
But add all those deleted features up per vehicle, multiply it by how many ever vehicles made in a year... and it's suddenly millions upon millions of dollars.

Ford's been doing this because they're in bad shape. It was/is either make big changes and start saving some money or else go bankrupt.

personally, I'd rather have some deleted items than see ford go under OR have the government pay to bail them out.

the damn economy isin bad enough shape already.

Feeling like this thread has somehow changed subject:crazy:

Started at alternatives to a problem we have, went to politics of warranties, dealer costs, maintenance arguments.

We are all eager for a solution, whether it be brought in a full product or a DIY kit. Unfortunately the dozens and dozens of manufactures that supply us with aftermarket parts have turned a deaf ear to this.

I want to use this bracket, if any interested people would verify that it is is across the 19-22 models, that would really help.

In the back next to the DI pump, the blue tape is it, I would like to use that hole if everything will fit nicely.

Thanks in advance!!

Okay, it's sorted out for the most part, I'm not thrilled to be using a P clamp, but it's thinner than a billet clamp and fits better, I've ordered some different clamps, both billet and steel.

It does barely touch the firewall pad, so I am also looking for a suitable way to clip it to the transmission, even a zip tie, once it got a heat soak in the right position it would stay off the pad.

It's -10AN so the ID is about 1/2 inch, not as big as a old school dipstick, not as small as B&M.

So for now, I will put some miles on it, make sure everything is good, then go forward with making a quantity.
