Remote Start?

My 2020 Lariat is not equipped with remote start. both my remotes do not have a start button. Is there anyway to activate it?

On my 2020 XLT, just have to push the lock button once, then push the @2 button twice to start. Will run for 15 minutes then shut off. Your Lariet will have remote start.

If you haven't already download the Ford app. You can use the remote start along with locking and unlock your doors from it.

Ford actually lists remote start as an option. Even for the Lariat. It's possible it doesn't have it. I would imagine it could be activated with Forscan if it is truly not enabled.

Pin switch... so remote start wont work or it will stop when you open the hood.

(I’ve seen them on our other vehicles with remote start. But I havent noticed it on my Ranger)

My truck already had a pin switch installed so I did not have to worry about that.

I think if you start your truck and pop the hood, You will get a light or notification telling you your hood is open if you have a factory switch installed.

Nice ? I use my phone to start but it’s not an instant start. Suppose I could live without a Start-X but it looks like a neat easy install option.

I asked my dealer about adding the key fob remote when I bought the truck and got a big run around and that I would have two remotes then. Dealers suck.

I installed a Start-X in my 2020, I can start it from the app but it isn't 100% reliable so I wanted to be able to start with the fob as well, install & programming is very easy.

I watched the install on the F150 and noticed the horn honks after the 2nd and 3rd lock sequence to remote start the truck.
Does the horn also honk on the Ranger and can it be deleted?

Is this something you can change using Forscan?

If the module you buy uses 3 presses of the lock button to start the horn will honk. The one I got for my Ranger uses lock, unlock, lock so no horn honk.

It's the module, if you double press the Ranger lock button the horn will honk, single press it won't, so as long as you get a remote start that doesn't need consecutive presses of the lock button it won't honk.
