Remote start

So I have a 2020 Xlt with cell phone remote start thru the app. So am I correct if I get the remote to use the remote start supposably the remote start hardware is installed already or no?

I don't think the XLT's came with remote start. I installed the aftermarket one and it works great.

So my question is how is it starting from the modem through my cell phone do the app?

Im presuming your truck has 301a or less trim package. In that case, the above link is your more cost efficient option. If you have the 302a package, it includes remote start.

Oh sorry, I forgot to mention this is through the key fob. Do you have push to start?

No push start

So it sounds like you have the same truck as I do and that means no phone start. But you can get the above device and use your fob to remote start.

I have the key remote start on my XLT. I know a guy that turned remote start on with Forscan in his fusion. He hits something like "lock,unlock,lock" or "lock,lock,lock" an it starts from his key. I don't know if the ranger is compatible with this or not.

You must have a higher end package. Like Dale stated above.

Mine is a 2021 XLT and has the remote start through the sucky phone app. I was ready to drop another $400 at the dealer for remote via the key fob when I read about the Start-X kit. Easy install and $300 cheaper than what the freakin dealer wanted.

I just bought an XL STX, and was very surprised that with this basic an option package, I can do a remote start with my phone.
