Maybe they expanded the recall to a larger number of vehicles and now your truck falls within range? Anyway, can't fault a dealer for working for a potential trade.

So ignore it.Original owner. I worked as quality control coordinator at Toyota for 5 years. I know how recalls work. I’m no spring chicken. I’m still financed through Ford on this truck so it’s not like they have a hard time finding me. You work for Ford? You think 3 years is acceptable for a smoke or fire recall? They know exactly when my truck rolled off the line and exactly what batch of blower motors were installed.
Good question. It does say Ford Customer Service Division.Did the notice come from Ford Motor Company, or from a dealer? Ford's, like Toyota's recalls com directly to you. If the notice is under any other letterhead than Ford Motor Company's, could be fishy. Even if an original notice went unanswered, a second notice would also be on FoMoCo letterhead. If it's Ford's, I'd take it in. A recall is a safety related defect, not meant to be a sales gimmick.
There may have been a batch of HVAC motors that are failure prone that are showing up now. Ford or a dealer wouldn't need to use such a tactic to lure you into their store
thanks for the useful input JoeSo ignore it.
You're just being paranoid. Dealers never do anything sleazy...?Just received recall 19S34 in the mail and it looks like it was an issue 3 years ago. Called the dealer and they said it’ll take 3 hours to look at the motor to see if it needs replaced. They also want to appraise my truck. Seems fishy to me that now they’re concerned after 3 years and want me to come in. I now they’re having a rough time time moving trucks and laying off employees but this would be a really sleazy way of getting people to the dealership. I’ve not had any problems with the hvac thus far. Maybe I’m wrong but this just seems odd.
I am impressed you worked for Toyota and drive a Ford Ranger.Original owner. I worked as quality control coordinator at Toyota for 5 years. I know how recalls work. I’m no spring chicken. I worked at many Nissan Dealerships while owning a GMC. Finally got rid of it and got a Frontier(mind you I already had a 280ZX). After that I worked at a Ford dealership with the same two vehicles for a bit untill some stuff happened. That led me to get the Ranger. Now I have the 93 Pathfinder and my Grandpa's 94 F150(needs a restoration to be honest).I am impressed you worked for Toyota and drive a Ford Ranger.
What year truck? I have a 2019 Lariat and have not received any such recall.Just received recall 19S34 in the mail and it looks like it was an issue 3 years ago. Thanks. I see it. I’ll take it in and let them tear it apart. Hope I don’t develop a dash rattle but it’s better than a fireDo a quick google search, see what pops up...
