Found this thread checking to see if there were any for axle seal leaks. All of you that had issues have they been resolved no problems after repair? Mine will be 2 yrs old on the 17th 29910 miles I noticed a small leak on the left rear when I was doing my 30,000 mile oil change & tire rotation.. Was not leaking when I did my 25,000 mile service. Can't get it in till the 24th guess we will see what they come up with. Will update when it gets serviced.
At least you found it before your 36k mile mark. I traded my 19 before I could tell if the fix was sufficient but I wish you luck!

Thanks. I am hoping for the best. But would that not be covered under power train warranty?

No issues after the repair. Mine began leaking badly at 64 miles. They also replaced the brake pads due to contamination.

That's a good question. I wonder as well!
This is what the warranty text says is covered by the powertrain:
Front-Wheel Drive: axle shafts, front bearings, seals and gaskets, universal and constant velocity joints; Rear-Wheel Drive: axle shafts, rear bearings, center support bearing, drive axle housing (including all internal parts), drive shaft, retainers, supports, seals and gaskets, universal and constant velocity joints. Four-Wheel/All-Wheel Drive: axle shafts, bearings (front and rear), center support bearing, drive shafts, final drive housing (including all internal parts), hubs-automatic front locking (four-wheel drive), locking rings (four-wheel drive), seals and gaskets, universal and constant velocity joints.

Hello everyone. Posting about my rear axle that was leaking and is now fixed under warranty.

Reason for posting is I had found other people's posts helpful when I had a dead keypad, kept me from exploding at the dealer since I had prior knowledge of a known issue by reading the forums.

Long story short, I noticed seepage at the seal for the wheel bearing and axle shaft.

Master tech (I told them I was going on vacation so they put their best guy on it and management was involved) said it had a "new" flange type on it that was loose. So they re-torqued it and cleaned it all up and I was on my way.

Will update if it returns. I think I may be the only one who had this issue at the moment

In the picture it is visible at the bottom of the caliper carrier and where it dripped inside the wheel

I’m having the exact same problem with my 2020 xlt

Dropped my truck of yesterday to get checked out. Picking it up this AM. Parts are on back order. Told to drive it till parts come in. Good thing is (as of now) the leak is very minor. Tech checked the fluid level & had to add very little. Will report more when ever parts arrive.

Has this issue been fixed on newer Rangers? Or is this something to keep an eye on even on newer years rangers?

Whole axle or just the shaft and seal?

Told axle is defective. When I know more I will include that info. I haven’t seen it, I don’t know if vehicle is in pieces, on a lift or in a parking lot right now. Dealer doesn’t even know eta on parts, how many parts exactly wasn’t told to me, or where the parts are coming from (Ford mothership or dealer in US) but they are searching now.

Driver side rear axle and four nonreusable bolts is all that was mentioned earlier today.

WTF? So, this started in 2019, was supposed to be "defective" parts from the Danco, and it's still being put in 2021s? Nice...guess I will be crawling under my truck every few weeks now. I had to do this BS with my defective from the factory 2016 Ford F150 (defective valve guide seals in the 2.7 Ecoboost), here we go again.
