Has anyone else had bad axle bearings from new? This is my first Ranger, so I have not learned all of the normal sounds and noises that one would associate with this model. I did notice a high pitch whine when I left the dealership the day I picked it up. I assumed the dealer would try and push it off as tire noise when I took it in honestly. The noise would start at about 15mph and get worse with speed. Interstate travel was almost unbearable.
No leaks and it had oil.
Picked it up Oct. 15
Had someone from the dealer ride with me to verify the noise around the 24th and scheduled a diagnostic appointment.
Dropped off November 3
Diagnosed bad bearings the same day. Ordered complete rear axle - Backordered with no estimated date available.
It has been hanging out at the dealer ever since.
Pretty sad for a new rig. Luckily this is a fleet vehicle so I am in a rental currently. I would be extremely upset if it was a personal vehicle.
Just wondered how many on here are waiting on the same or had the same problem?
