Has anyone else had bad axle bearings from new? This is my first Ranger, so I have not learned all of the normal sounds and noises that one would associate with this model. I did notice a high pitch whine when I left the dealership the day I picked it up. I assumed the dealer would try and push it off as tire noise when I took it in honestly. The noise would start at about 15mph and get worse with speed. Interstate travel was almost unbearable.

No leaks and it had oil.

Picked it up Oct. 15
Had someone from the dealer ride with me to verify the noise around the 24th and scheduled a diagnostic appointment.
Dropped off November 3
Diagnosed bad bearings the same day. Ordered complete rear axle - Backordered with no estimated date available.
It has been hanging out at the dealer ever since.

Pretty sad for a new rig. Luckily this is a fleet vehicle so I am in a rental currently. I would be extremely upset if it was a personal vehicle.

Just wondered how many on here are waiting on the same or had the same problem?

Corporate drone. Dilbert's world is alive & well.
Not surprised at the "backordered" status. In today's world it'd be a lot faster to make a list of things NOT backordered.

Strange times.

Sorry about your truck. Glad it isn't your personal purchase.

When my 2020 was new with only 64 miles on it, it developed a severe rear axle seal leak. They ended up replacing the axle assembly on it as well. I got the 'backordered' story back then too. After about a week, I made a lot of noise with the dealer and Ford Customer Service since I could not drive the new truck that had only 64 miles on it.

They miraculously found the parts and it was fixed a few days later. I got a free Ford Protect extended warranty out of it for my trouble. I also had a rental paid by Ford the whole time.

I've seen ford take 8 months to come up with a new axle for shit before.

And that's what it is.. a NEW axle. They need what they can get to assemble new trucks, fixing trucks sadly seems to come #2.

Wait till the disappointment settles in and they find out it's the center bearing on the driveshaft and not the axle bearings. Or even more embarrassing if they found it was a dust shield rubbing.

The last time I looked the bearings up I think they were also backordered.
