Never encountered this before. At first I thought maybe something spilled that I didn’t notice. Entire driver side floorboard under the floor mat is soaked and smells sweetish. I’m assuming coolant is leaking somewhere… How do I troubleshoot this??

Is your coolant tank low 🤔?
Not since I checked it last time I did an oil change. It’s right between min-max. I probably should top it off but it’s not any lower than it was a couple months ago.

Check underneath on the passenger side behind the glovebox for coolant.

The overflow tank is only temporary storage of coolant. if the engine gets hotter than normal; idling in hot weather, towing or both, the coolant in the radiator may expand beyond the capacity of the radiator, and travel to the overflow tank, until the coolant contracts as it cools back down, and siphons back into the radiator.
SO.
The overflow bottle won't change level because of a leak in the heater system. the only way to check that is check the level in the radiator itself, or the heater core & its plumbing; I suspect the latter.

Well...that explains the soaked floor board...
That’s just blood from the last time I tried interrogation tactics with her… The reason I don’t remember spilling anything is because I was in a coma for a month after she clubbed me in the head when I put the towel over her face. It’s all coming back to me now lol

A dude from work spilled a Bubba Mug of 50% Coffee and 50% French Vanilla Creamer on my office chair seat. It soaked it up like a sponge. My office smelled like a French Vanilla Yankee Candle for 4 months.
A coworker came in really hung over, passed out on his keyboard, and spilled flavored coffee very similar. Took us weeks to figure where that smell was coming from, he did a piss poor job of cleaning it up.

Not really making any progress with this issue… In an effort to avoid having to pay a bunch of money for the dealership to handle it, I tried drilling a hole in the heater core plastic cover to hopefully clear the drain hole of any blockages. After sticking my finger inside the heater core housing, it doesn’t feel wet. I would think if the drain hole was clogged, the inside of the cover would be wet?

Also after looking more carefully, I don’t think it’s coolant that’s leaking. It smells funny after soaking into the carpet but it’s not oily at all. I think it’s just water. Anyone have any suggestions before I bite the bullet and make an appointment with the truck doctor to have it looked at?
