Water in the floorboard

Has anyone had an issue with the carpet being wet in the floorboard? My driver's side is wet. I have noticed water on my door sills and wondering if that is causing the water in my floorboard. I have a worthless service department at my Ford dealer, so before I drive miles to the next nearest dealer, I wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem. Thanks

Water on the metal sill is to be expected - the door seal is inboard of the metal sill, so I doubt that is the issue.

Water is getting in somehow. Is the passenger floor wet too? Only gets wet when it is raining?

Is it water or something else? There was at least one report of a leaky heater core some time back. Does it smell like coolant? Or is it just water? If it is just water, see if you can see if it is more soaked in one spot which would point to where it is leaking in.

It's just water, but smells musty and the carpet is only wet about halfway across starting towards the door, that is why I was thinking it was leaking near the door sills. I guess this is why my truck never had that new car smell, I thought it was the leather seats.

The door seal may be cut/pinched/out of line somewhere around the door.

Your carpet wet, take it to back to the dealership...you have a serious problem that needs warranty work

Took it to the dealer and they have to setup an appointment with a "leak specialist". Didn't know there was such a person.

Not yet, the "leak specialist" isn't available until next Tuesday. I'm dropping off the truck Monday afternoon. My dealer sucks!

Your description of the issue, maybe a windshield leak--While they are "almost eliminated" as a problem, it's not impossible--I suspect they will find a leak.

Hope it's not from the windshield, because mine is aftermarket tinted and if they replace it, I will have to shell out another $250 to get it re-tinted.

Dealer called today, looks like the water was coming in from the back window seal. They are going to reseal it and dry my carpet out, should get it back on Friday. I hope the carpet doesn't get funky smelling when it warms up around here.
