here in Texas I think, at least for mine, I found the magic bullet.

Set temp to 69, fixed on vent/dash registers, and recirculate. I leave the fan on "auto" control and two things happen...first it works great...second the recirculate never turns off like it would with everything in full auto.

Now, back to OP's issue...when you say "coolant" did you mean the refrigerant or were you meaning engine coolant?
Its was the engine coolant. The dealer had checked the refrigerant and it was fine.

From the OP:

They evacuated the system, pulled out the correct amount of refrigerant and confirmed it was not leaking. They re-filled the system, and told me nothing was wrong

Cool! Glad it is solved and was a pretty simple and inexpensive fix!
Yup, $20 jug of coolant is a price I can stomach, wish I had opened my eyes before taking it to the dealer however!

Yup, regular engine coolant. Looked at the reservoir and noticed it was just slightly under the minimum fill line. I filled it in the Auto Zone parking lot, by the time I started driving away the A/C was already actually cool again.

Thinking there's more to the OP's story (reading between the lines). I'm glad the issue appears to be resolved at any rate.

its sweet. like redneck koolaid.
add in some cheap vodka brewed from rotting potatos under a tarp on East Hastings street Vancouver, and you got yourself a winning combo.

I'm not sure what caused it to go low on coolant, this is my first new vehicle so I have been leaving the maintenance up to the dealer service dept, and not doing it myself. Haven't noticed any leaks of any kind.

Been awhile since I worked on a cooling system, but back in the day any low coolant was a red flag ? ? , usually would pull plugs to look for evidence it may be burning some , pressure test and such , some small leaks may not make it to the ground... probably nothing though...

Yeah I was just referencing our trucks in my eyes nothing else exists lmao and in this vehicle and my old car I used the vents to cool "sodas" more than a few times

I am not super impressed with the A/C in this truck. Been dealing with 110+ temps here in Vegas lately and I have to have it at FULL blast to keep me comfortable. Not the worst, but definitely not the best. I don't think there's anything wrong with my A/C, just not as good as it could be IMO.

It's funny that the A/C in my wife's Tucson is actually better than my Rangers. Hers takes a little longer to get going, but man once it gets going its ICE cold, and she has 60K miles on it.
Mine is the same here Steve. I have to keep it set to max or it just won't keep up cooling the cab. But we both have more extreme temps than most of the country so I just chalk it up to living on the face of the sun. lol

The only other vehicle I've had out here was my '16 Tacoma and that was much worse. I could drive all the way home from work (usually 12 miles) and still not be cooled off on the max setting. At least the Ranger will keep it cool on max but it'd be nice to be able to turn the fan setting down a little.

Yeah you’re probably right sir. It’s been brutal here lately. Today my buddies and I had the bright idea to go and do pistol drills in the desert too, lol.. not fun. Must have drank a gallon of water today

You're a lot braver than I am. lol I won't even consider going out to the desert shooting until October. But we are a little warmer here than you but not by much. Once its over 110 does it really matter? ?
