Just ordered the scuff plates. I have the $80 plates installed but they scratch to easily and I don't want to deal with not scratching them when I enter the truck sooooo...Getting real scuff plates.
These held up really well in my 2005 Ranger and are doing really well in this Ranger too. I'm very happy with them, and the price was right.

I got a set of carbon fibre type that are a magnetic-metallic color range that I opted not to go with, went with black-skid tape instead. Anyways if anyone is interested IM me and I can send some pix.

Does anyone get water in this area when it rains or you wash the truck? Mine is always wet after rain or washing, the dealer said they it is normal to have water in this area. My old F-250 never had water in this area, I think the seals are bad.

The door seals are on the inside of the sills. The sills will get wet for sure. I'm assuming you are talking about the painted sills, correct? The painted sills are on the outside of the door seals. If you are talking about the black plastic "sill" that is inside the truck, no that shouldn't have water there.

Yep the painted part. I guess the Ranger design is different than my old F-250. They look similar, but the painted part never got wet. Thanks!

I have these for a while now and I find they scratch too easily. I wouldn't buy them again.
I ordered the black long ones I'm going to double tape them over the ranger plate.

My solution to missing door sill scuff plates.

I found this forum before I ordered my 2019 Ranger.

Thanks to this forum I spent a lot of money before delivery on items posted in this forum.

But after delivery I also noticed that there were not any door sill scuff plates. I did not like the stainless steel factory jobs nor the aftermarket ones that go below the door sills.

Since I sold my 2008 Ranger for this 2019, I remembered that it had really cool sill scuff plates.

Looking up the part numbers on Ford Dealer parts pages the part numbers never matched the parts pictures displayed.

I found the scuff plates here. https://www.tascaparts.com/oem-parts/ford-scuff-plate-f37z1013260a

Part Number F37Z-1013260-A. They fit either right or left.

The material is pretty close to the Weather Tech mat material. Some type of vinyl rubber/plastic.

My 2008 Ranger was a 4 door extra cab so the scuff plate was close to 4 feet long which is too long for the super crew 2019. So I ordered the scuff plate for the 2008 Ranger 2-Door. The scuff plate was about 33 inches long.

I used a table saw to trim the width, about 1/8" on each side, and cut off each end to make the length about 21 inches. I used a belt grinder to remove the 6 tabs off the back that were obviously for securing it to the door sill on the 2008 Ranger.

From the parts diagram on Tasca Parts you can see a facsimile of the tabs.

Once done, I mounted the scuff plates with double sided tape. The foam style, not the thin stuff. Hopefully this will hold up for several years. If not, renewing the tape will be easy.

The picture shown here is the front drivers side. I'll get two more of them for the back doors. The rear doors are smaller so I'll need to trim even more off the plates.

Fabulous idea bud, that looks better than factory!:like:
The sill plates on my week old 2020 S/Cab are just begging to get scuffed up and I intend to pirate your idea.
I'll probably have to order the 4 door version of the 4G models, as my truck is a SuperCab, my 2000 S/Cab had these in place and they did well to protect the sill.
How's the double-sided tape holding up for you, have you had to replace them yet? No issues with interference with the door itself?

I did a "How To" on the sill plate installation on our SuperCab.... 2008-2011 Ford Ranger Door Sill Scuff Plates

There are a few people who have done this. I did it probably 6 months ago now and they are holding up well.
Hmmm,
There's an abandoned '99 regular cab just 3 doors away, thinking about helping myself to these sill plates just for sizing...

Jeff ,I installed F37Z-1013260-A from levittown ford for 21.86 for the pair. They fit my super cab after trimming small amount from the back side. Bret
