But, the Ranger sills are the cats whiskers if you don’t mind a little work.
I'm not following you. (I apologize, I'm pretty dense)

LoL. I understood that part. It was the reference to the sills that I didn't understand. Thank you.

I used PJVet’s idea on the SuperCab. Trimmed about an 1/8 off the edge that fits under the door seal and used the full length.
Cut the 1/8 off and the tabs with a bandsaw.

I used two-sided tape from Gorilla tape.

I like the rounded corners.... They look good.

Edit - I see you used the full length. Interesting. Just wondering how you got them to fit? As I recall, I tried to make them as long as possible - I ended up putting them in the flat area - past where I put them the sills started curving up. And I think I took off like 3 1/2" on each end (something like that). Is it because you have a supercab? Are the doors larger in the supercab?

That is my thought but I haven’t measured the two, it appears obvious though. The door pillar on the four door curves up where the SuperCab has the suicide doors, no pillar.

You know, now that you say that, I think that is exactly how my 2005 Ranger was (that had very similar sill plates - they went all the way to the back, including the suicide doors. That would make perfect sense.

Here is what mine came out looking like. I'm pretty happy with how they look - almost factory I think. For $30 or so and a few minutes of cutting, I think they turned out well. I think they will be more durable than the stick on kind and they are cheaper than the metal ones.

Thank you for posting this! I'm not sure if I will do the rears as well (don't have too many people get in the back seat), but I'm really glad the front sills are now protected.

May go with these, bigger profile than the current OEM available and though a nice job on your suggested mod's I'm not looking for any new projects that entail measuring, my table saw, profiling the raw edge etc...if I can avoid it! :)

Here is another one I just found...

I felt using the adhesion promoter on the sill plate was extra insurance, even after scuffing it. It may not help, but it certainly won't hurt. I used denatured alcohol to clean the door sill.
I ordered some adhesion promoter and was getting ready to cut mine down when I realized I might not have the appropriate blade for my table saw. What blade did you use. I don't want to tear things up or possibly melt the plastic when I rip the sides.
