I’ve been trawling through the Ford accessories catalog for ways to spend my FordPass points.

These door sill protectors caught my attention, part number, VKB3Z-1613208-A.

I’m guessing these may be stock on a Lariat? Anyone installed them? I’m wondering how easy the install is, and how well the adhesive might work.

I do not have them in my Lariat; those look good though.

There’s a thread here on them (and a few other options)

https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/door-sill-protectors.14859/

Consensus (between here and Amazon reviews) is that they’re only held on by thin 3m tape, the top bit may let water, salt, and road grime through over time, and the bottom bit may not secure well to the pinch weld.

Thanks for the thread link.

Yep, concerned about grime and salt getting under them, particularly given the abuse they’ll get on winter trips. I may go for the non-slip gorilla tape option discussed in another thread.

I used clear film on all of my sills. You can’t see it but it’s protecting from scuffs etc.

They are made by Bushwacker. Made for Ford and Ford sells them for $249.
Bushwacker web site has em for around $179.
Go to Amazon and punch up Bushwacker Rocker Panel Armor....guess what....$159 with free shipping.
Part # 14099 for SuperCrew
Part # 14091 for SuperCab.
They use 3M tape to apply...real good stuff. Should stay on for the life of the truck.
