Hi All
- I’m sorry if this topic has already been discussed, I searched and could not find anything but this a.m. when I went to start my truck the pitch of my ignition chime changed from the normal tone to the same tone but a much higher pitch.

Has anyone else ever run across this?

It's likely because it was going through the IPC instead of the speakers.

On my mustang I could never figure out what triggers the change between the source, I'm not sure what it is for the Ranger either. I've had it happen a few times, but it almost always comes through the speakers.

I have that too. Anyone figure out how to change it back? I was wondering if it was a result from swapping my speakers out.

I've just run into this as well. I haven't done anything to cause it. It just decided one day to not use the stereo anymore for noises related to the parking sensors and headlights left on etc.

Would love to get it back through the stereo. Stock B&O in my case.

What i get is the tone sounds like a blown speaker. Every once in a bkue moon.

The wifes mustange would chime high pitched too sometimes, for what reason??? We never could figure it out.

Just like the broken speaker sound. Every so often, dont know why

If I leave the keys in the ignition, and open the door from outside, the warning sound is from under the dash (IPC?), but once I get in and close the door, it switches over to the stereo speakers with a more pleasant tone, for one repetition. Then, exiting the truck with the key in the ignition, it uses the stereo system chime repeatedly.

Turned out my battery had gotten low and it switched to the IPC temporarily

Weird chime sound means battery is getting low.
Have your dealer check the battery well, and if it's going bad it can be replaced under warranty.
Happened to my '19.

Forgive me if this has been covered somewhere, but...

...this morning when I went to start my truck, the usual soft courtesy chiming sound was much harsher and louder, and sounded like a videogame sound effect from an old 16 bit game. This afternoon, I jumped in the truck to run out to get fuel, and it was the same. This evening, when I went to leave work, again with the same harsh sound upon starting the truck. So I decided to video it for you guys, and I shut the truck to restart it and record the harsher version of the courtesy chime noises, and it didn't do it! When I got home from work I reattempted, but again, it sounded normal! What gives!?

It sometimes switches between main speakers and a dash chime for me. I stopped worrying about it as it seems somewhat unpredictable.

noticed that a few times, seemed random.
I know some people have it happen more when they turn off the fake engine noise

Mine does weird sounds once in a while when I am close to an object either front or rear sensors. It has always reset itself. Also the cross traffic alert when I am backing up, again resets itself.
