I'd take this Z over the Supra in a heartbeat.
The B58 in the Supra is it's saving grace to me. That engine is a flat out monster when it comes to the aftermarket. Paired with some Volks and a little low, I think they look solid. Obviously Toyota didn't go with retro styling which has become popular/the norm these days for big name equity cars.

Problem with modern muscle cars is everyone and their mother doing cat/reso deletes. Cause sounding like a track car when you go to pick up eggs and milk is the coolest thing ever.

I had a 510 in forest green - think it was a 1970 , bought it used, independent rear suspension, 4 speed manual and I think a 1.6 l overhead cam engine. Great car but one night after a few too many plopped into the drivers seat and it broke, drove it for another 2 yrs with the spare tire holding the seatback upright. Then overheated it and stretched the timing chain - it made a constant rattle but never broke, very rugged engine, great car it was compared to the bmw 2002 .Best Datsun ever made was the 510 sedan, After that they built the B210 and were so ashamed that they had to change their name!
Tend to agree, but still think it looks more like the Plymouth Cuda than the Challenger. Taillights and dual headlights are the only thing that makes it a Challenger. I'm prejudiced because I had a '70 Cuda.
My thoughts on the front end is a bit different. I believe Nissan wanted to pay homage to the past, but also, they know that many of these cars will be modified by buyers and wanted to provide a clean slate as a starting point. I like what they've done and can easily visualize what mods could be implemented, either to make it look modern and aggressive or retro and clean. Then he got tired of the dealership thing and went to an independent called the "Z Center" in Houston. This was the late 70's and I remember there were two ways to go...Weber carbs to replace the Hitachi's OR go with a V8 swap (saw one 289 and three 350 swaps, all of them were crazy according to my dad lol). My first engine to ever rebuild was an L engine from a wrecked out 260. My dad and his boss would make sure I was working by the manual, they would give me the parts I'd need as I went from bottom to top end. I heard that engine run at 10 years old. They did some of course but I did about 70% of that engine. The owner of the shop gave me 200 bucks (in 1982 money I was a rich little dude). What also happened was my love of that car, engine and whole mystique of that car. Basically it was a rip from a Jag and it was spot on. Most of them after the 1970's were, imo, garbage. This one...it looks alot like the ones I played with and hope it takes off
