  1. Fords future

Good. To expand -- It's an antiquated business model that only rewards those willing to play their games. I do not want to spend my time and energy haggling prices with dealerships all over town. The lack of transparent pricing and normalized predatory practices (e.g., "market adjustment"...
  2. Thinking about Unleashed Tune

I found this one on their store. https://unleashedtuning.com/unleashed-logo-sticker/
  3. Thinking about Unleashed Tune

That's the thing! The listing for the power pack doesn't have a description or explanation for what the plugs and thermo are for. I think based on your reply and others I would pass on it. I agree for OEM. Thank you.
  4. Thinking about Unleashed Tune

Hi all, I've been considering a tune. I've tuned my cars in the past so I'm pretty familiar with what to expect (and the potential risks involved). I am heavily considering Unleashed from what I've researched so far. I found that they sell the tuning device on their website...
  5. Ford Ranger Performance Power Pack

Hello Benny, I am interested in this and other items sold by your shop. Any chance I could score a forum discount code so that I can see what my costs will be? Thanks!
  6. Ford Ranger cheap hit piece

While directed at the Ranger, it seems to be commentary on the car market as a whole with everything across the board getting larger and more complicated each year. Some people just miss the old stuff for their own reasons. Don't think on it too much or let it bother you :).
  7. XLT vs Lariat - differences

Hello @ch57 , I probably won't add anything that hasn't been said already, but here's my take on the controversial Lariat gauge cluster -- I actually find the two screens useful. The left is for vehicle data. The right is for Navigation, Entertainment, and Phone Call. My left screen is...
  8. It was fun while it lasted but they are paying big for used trucks

Do what you gotta do! Carmax offered me about $5k more for my Civic Si than I paid for it new. That's how I ended up in the Ranger. If you don't mind me asking, what is the Ranger being replaced with?
  9. Recommended tires for a 2019 Ranger for mixed use?

+1 for the Toyo (because that's what I have :D) Echoing what @TheDo114 said above --To be honest, you'll most likely be fine going with any of the tires mentioned above. I'd imagine that the limits of each of them are going to be so similar that the average driver is going to have a hard time...
  10. Ford is switching to Android in 2023

If their implementation is anything like Honda's was on my 2020 Civic, this could be a very cool thing. "Honda Hack" by a third party lets you get root access over your infotainment screen with just a few easy steps, simple enough for anyone and very safe (at least I never had any issues). This...
  11. New Nissan Z - good potential but one big failure.

Not only are the automatics almost always faster, but in many cases they even get better MPG numbers too. It's tough being a manual driver these days.
  12. Who Here Has Done Their Own Brake Job?

I bought mine with 12,500 miles on it and the brakes have been squeaking since I got it. I'm really curious as to what I'll find once I get the wheels off and can take a closer look.
  13. 265/70R18 K02s w/ 2.5" level kit (stock wheels)

Relatable! Luckily it'll be awhile before my new Toyo's need replacing so I'll have plenty of time to plan. The 265/60r18s don't look so bad for now I guess.
  14. New Nissan Z - good potential but one big failure.

I really like what Nissan is doing with the new Z. Its looks have really grown on me. I'd choose the Z in a heartbeat over its classic German rival, the BMW Supra. Doubly so if Nissan nails the pricing. For the Z, I wonder if they'll also offer a lesser powertrain option like an NA v6 or turbo i4?
  15. Maverick MPG

Thank you for sharing this. 22city / 29hwy for the turbo AWD model. While I can appreciate that there will also be a hybrid model available for ultimate MPG bragging rights, these MPG numbers are high enough to where I don't think I'd ever consider going that route. I can see why Ford is...
  16. Who Here Has Done Their Own Brake Job?

My rears are squeaking with only 14k miles. Seems to have worn fast? Thanks for making this thread. I'll be checking it for any tips I can get when I take a look at the brakes. I'm familiar with the piston retracting tool from my Mustang days so it doesn't look like it'll be that tricky to...
  17. Shocking Ranger News!

Strange call! Either he or his insurance must have spent a small fortune attempting that repair, only to back out after so much sunk time and money. Either way! Glad it sounds like he had the option to replace it.
  18. Shocking Ranger News!

I imagine they'd need to replace every single electrical component and wire in the truck which will involve heavy disassembly and even after all that I wouldn't trust that it'd be back to good-as-new. They could spend a hundred days working on it and I believe it would be a hundred days wasted...
  19. New Here

So I've never owned a truck before this one. One thing that caught me off guard on my first wash was being unable to reach the entire roof of the truck. Still haven't gotten around to figuring that out. For now I just don't wash the roof (not like anyone looks up there anyways, right?).
  20. New Here

I was thinking about waiting on a Maverick too but I was worried that the rear seat would not be large enough to contend with a rear facing car seat after looking at a Bronco Sport. I know they're not the same but I think they're similar in size and its rear seat was tiny. Might've made a good...
