Now that’s a drive shaft - imagine the slip bump from that one - it would throw you through the windshield

Just add a leveling kit and it will fit.

There may be a little occasional rubbing but nothing major.

Yeah but it would take you all day and 10 cans of grease to fill the bearing!
By my calculations and specialized engineering guesstamation it will.most likely need 3 55 gallon barrels of grease per service

For the story behind the joint. Had to do some looking. It is a damn big assembly.

Double-drum winder, named after its inventor, Robert Blair, where both drums incorporate two winding sections, normally for multi-layer winding, often referred to as a BMR winder, BLAIR multi-rope winder.

Since these kind of machines require a lot of room, it may be necessary to arrange the two drums at an angle to each other in order to maintain the necessary rope fleet angles. In this case, each drum receives its own machine shaft, which is mechanically coupled via a universal joint.

Something else to note. Check out the 64 pistons worth of hydraulic braking on the outer edge of the drums. They're not playing around with being able to stop those things from turning.

But I imagine since it won't turn very fast and the angle is slight that you wouldn't have to do it too often.
