That has got to be some of the dumbest shit to invest money in. Who is going to use that system besides the 0.1% of owners who actually have baja built and capable high speed trucks?

You know what this patent means? The rest of us knuckle draggers get to pay the eventual cost built into the price tag for a feature that virtually no one will use.

If people think your STX price tag isn't paying for Raptor features your truck won't even have I have a bridge to sell people. Own a new raptor but don't do high speed baja runs? Too bad pleb, you get to pay for it too.

Then in theory wouldn’t those with builds below STX be paying for STX tech?

Far as I am aware STX is the bare bones model, you build up from there. STX, XLT, Lariat, then Raptor.

The point being all trims at all levels are bleeding costs down the ladder. Look at it this way - hypothetically a feature is only offered on the Raptor. In one year they make and sell 2,000 Raptor's, but sell 20,000 XLT's; you think 2,000 units of Raptors is going to cover that R&D cost? They are going to bake X amount into lower trim level price tags to help off-set loss/cost.

Normally its not that big a deal if its good for owners across the board (DIY factory upgrades, etc etc), but this system they are looking to toot around with is some real dumb crap that virtually a majority of owners would never even want or bother with.

When I jump that mall curb, I MUST know the attitude of my Ranger, its departure angle from the curb, and the approach angle to the ground.
It is imperative that these figures are available for comparison between Wal-Mart, Target, Lowes, and Home Depot curbs.

STX is not the bottom. This tech will be in Broncos, F150 up and others so not just Rangers.

Flaps and louvre’s could be added and computer controlled. Multiple curb jumps could be obtained. Even a electronic tailgate damper could be used to regulate tailgate opening/closing. Like landing flaps . Dave?

THAT'S IT !!!! An adjustable damper to regulate the tailgate while airborne !!!
It would have to be self-adjusting by calculating the height of the jump, the right or left angle, and of course the nose up or down angle. It would have to automatically account for wind speed, wind direction, and altitude so it could condensate for thinner air at higher altitudes.
Pure Genius Steve !!!

I wonder.....
What would happen if you paired up the new self adjusting damper with a good coat of 303 Graphene ???
That coating might make the truck surfaces more likely to "speed up" the flow of air molecules as they pass over the truck "in the air"....it already displaces water from pooling. Extensive tests would have to be done at Dave's facility to determine what would be the best ### of coats of 303 for optimum performance.
