Oops thought you were talking Maverick.
Totally hear you there. My wife drives too much and has a hybrid currently, but could use a bit more utility daily (she is at the barn every day). 40mpg, awd would be great.

Price range? The Mazda SUV’s get good reviews.
10-4. Daughter and SIL just bought a 2023 CX5. Very nicely done SUV and a very good value for the money, well equipped nice leather interior and wide rear doors for the size of the CUV. Low to mid-thirties new, you may still find a '22; no major changes. Japan's best kept secret!

I sold Fords for almost 12 years before driving semi. Out of the 7 vehicles my kids own between them, not one Ford.

Not one Kenworth either, so there is that.

Friday yet?

CPO BMW X3. X5 if you can afford, but the X3 is cheaper.

Best SUV you'll ever drive.
No room. None. Recently spent a week in one as a rental. Was blown away but how little room it had. It was seriously bad. I was shocked. I won't rent one again if I can avoid it.

Of course my Ford fanboy attitude generally governs which rental I grab as well. But that trip there were no Ford options at the time. National was busy, pickings were slim.. BMW seemed to be the next best thing. In hindsight site I should have just grabbed one of the freaking GM's. :puke:

Just my 2 cents.

Chrysler Pacifia. Wife is on her third Chrysler minivan and loves them.
Kids are grown and gone but we have two large dogs. They're handy for all kinds of stuff though. Have rear A/C.
A hybrid is available. MPG on the regular ones is surprisingly good. With the driving you describe I don't think a hybrid would be an advantage.
In my experience they're tanks that run forever with just basic maintenance. Had almost 200k on our last one, a 2014, when it was totaled in an accident. In a way it was a blessing because insurance paid us a lot more than we would have got on trade.

Before I sold my Freightliner (POS) I had made up my mind my next truck would be a Kenworth. Was really looking forward to that for awhile, actually.

I did at one time drive a Volvo day cab while working for Preston Trucking, but never have driven a sleeper cab Volvo. Mostly only Freightliners, and for a brief while a Peterbilt sleeper cab(but don't remember the model #).

A guy told me once that there two types of drivers. Those that drive Peterbilts and those that wish they did.?

He probably drove a Freightliner too, and was just speculating.

I had a 2003 BMW convertible, I forget the exact model but it was the higher end, but not the M3. Best driving car I've ever driven, but warranty repairs for around $1500 every year. I sold it once the warranty ran out. Not sure if that's still the case or not, but I always heard similar stories: Great driving, but expensive to own.
