So you left on the tune when it went in for trans work? Some people opt to revert to stock tune first. For whatever reason.
Correct, I left the tune on/in the truck.

I had the transmission completely rebuilt with 113,000 miles on the truck covered by the Ford Extended warranty and Unleashed Tune installed since about 5k.
Every dealer is different.

100% true. I’ve found that talking to them professionally and respectful goes a long way. But yeah there all different and some service writers are in power trips.

That wont matter because they can tell by the flash count. When I brought my '19 (Livernois tune) in for work I just told them it was tuned and they could've cared less. Most times they'd ask me about it and how it was performance wise.

question for those of you that have the Ford Tune, are you able to do Forscan mods with the tune loaded?

LB
Yes, I was able to do any Forscan mods.... BUT, not sure how much of it's true, the Ford dealer tech who bricked my PCM for 2 weeks and had to call the Ford hotline to reinitialize the PCM and reload the base calibration, he suspected that when I disabled the ASS with Forscan it somehow caused a problem to where the dealer diagnostic IDS did not recognize my PCM file and put up error message VIN does not match! At first the tech thought it was the Ford tune I had on the truck, but the hotline told him "no, it's not that"

So after the usual weeks at the dealer, I got it back, with a wiped PCM, the keyless entry pad and the spare key had to be reprogrammed. All the BCM changes I made were still good though.

So instead of disabling the ASS again, I left it alone.

What I did do... Was get the Revolution Automotive tune, , I can say the RAT (Revolution Automotive Tune) is really good, far better than the FPT, the mileage is better (and I'm driving it harder) the shifting is improved, the power band is more linear, instead of the low/mid RPM high torque curve, it's now flattened out where it pulls hard all the way to the shift point, in WOT it will bounce the tach needle between 4500 and 5500 shifting up through the gears quickly like a hot rod Mustang.

Where I am really happy with the RAT is with the Anti-Lag, at first I did not think I needed it, but I tell you it is nice, it really eliminates any of the usual turbo soft spots. It is only in sport mode and 4x4, I can't say enough about the tip-in driveability, especially off road, it makes the constant on-off-on-off throttle transitions so smooth, I have never been so happy with the performance of the truck.

So to get back to topic without too much of a hi-jack, I highly recommend the Revolution Automotive Tune!!! (or RAT as I like to call it, I hope I don't make those guys mad by calling it that😳

I've been happy with my aftermarket tune for performance and the improvement in shifting (Unleashed) and Revolution is on my radar for future changes if I were to do anything more.

Power aside Im interested in a linear power output which can be tricky with a turbocharged vehicle. I would think some modest changes to the intake and exhaust would help, maybe some changes to the turbo itself and lastly (maybe) injector upgrades on top of (or in coordination with) a tune.

I completely agree it shouldn't matter. Unless they have a reason to, I doubt they go in and look the flash count on routine trans work. Like you, I would just let them know ahead time and not worry about it.
