Ford performance tune, I surrender, need to go back to regular gas

I go off peak times and there are always pumps available, but my costco has a lot of pumps.

Lol, I tried that a couple times. There's no such thing as off peak time at Costco in Houston.

Go at 2:30 on a Tuesday afternoon nope. Try 10:30 on a Wednesday morning doesn't matter... Parking lot jammed full, gas pumps backed up.

In the NE we have Costco and BJ’s. Same thing with pumps stacked. The delivery truck is there 5 times a day. The pump is long enough to reach over the bed. Those pumps are always open. 1PM or 3:30PM seems to be working out for me. Drive up and gone.

When it’s busy and the real old timers do the Tim Conway slow shuffle to pay cash. Get all the way to the window and another 3 or 4 minutes to fish the wallet out. Think the last one was crying ?

Well, I got Premium for $4.939 today. But that was using the Circle K $0.20/gal discount on premium and the Auto Pay card from them for an additional $0.30/gal discount. But that $0.30 is only for the first 100 gals or 60 Days. Then it's only $0.10/gal off. Saved over $7 on the gas today, and I got a free coffee.

My truck is a 2019 and I installed the Ford performance tune when they came out which was shortly after I got it.........well I'm done with $5 per gallon premium gas. I never thought there would be a day when I said please let me buy some of that $4.25 per gallon gas but it's here

How do I uninstall my tune?
Should I expect any issues, besides the obvious lower performance after running it for a couple of years?
Can I reinstall when/if we ever get back to prices like we had 2 years ago??
My fuel light is on now so if I uninstall the tune should I wait a bit before I go back to the "cheap" stuff? or can fill up today with regular?

Same in the Denver metro at all the Costco's....lunch time equals gas time....lol.
I go get my lunch and eat while I'm waiting......

Last fill-up with Plus @ 5.299 (the minimum octane for the Ranger is 87).
Supreme was 5.699.

Shit Regular is over 6$ here in CA and 91 is closer to 6.50$

I see you're in MoVal; I consider that my hometown. Left in 1989, before it got too big for itself. We are paying around the same a few hours north of you.

I'm going back to 87 as well. I have the Livernois tune.

The only reason I've been hesitant is because it's summer and octane = resistance to detonation.

Turbo, high compression, heat...

Florida heat, Livernois tune 87. No issues.

I have done nothing but 92 every tank my entire ownership. Got to keep that OAT up for the power . I actually just bought the FP tune yesterday and can't wait!

Gas prices are stupid where I live. Even my local Safeway gas is over $5.70 for premium.

16 gallons x 4.55 (sams price on 87 today) per gallon. 72.80
orilley octane booster 4 bucks for treating up to 21 gallons. so approx 80 bucks to do 87 and booster.
sam place premium is 5.05 a gallon x 16 gallons = about 80 bucks again lol.

Good octane booster can run up to $7-$8 a bottle and treats around 20 gallons or so...depending on brand/quality.
$8 bucks divided by 18 gallons is around .44 cents per gallon...
Your better off just buying premium (cost of regular plus the .44 cents per gal for the booster)
Most booster's only raise the octane by 3-4 points, so spending $8 for a bottle to raise gas from 87 to 91 would be almost the same as just buying hi-test.
Also, read your manual...Ford does NOT recommend using ANY type of additive to fuel or oil...it's just not needed.
