Haven't tried 5Star or Unleashed but happy with the Livernois tune. It really wakes the truck up and I like the shift points. I did not get the soft shift. I run the 87-89 performance tune and the tow tune when towing. Some on this forum run the tow tune as a daily but it is not for me.
So what do you run daily? the performance tune or stock tune? Or do you have a modified daily drive tune?

Do most people run with the performance tune all the time??

My truck is a daily driver. My big thing is I hate the 110-speed limiter!
The extra hp is a nice plus too.
My friend is running Revolution. He seems to like his. I just don't know enough about them.
He wants me to try one of the others to compare....
I'm not trying to do a 12 second quarter like him! just a little more ump! and no limiter...

I didn't consider 5 Star anymore because I try for weeks to call them with no answer! or return calls. Because of that, I ruled them out.

Not here to bash anyone, just sharing my experience.
I know a lot of guys are running 5 Star and have had good experiences with them.
Mine as a new customer, not good.

I like to thank all that took the time to share their experience and info with me.
Going to research a little more and see what else this thread brings before I make my
purchase.

I run the 87-89 performance tune as my daily drive tune and only use the stock if I'm bringing the truck in for service. Had "The Works" done a couple weeks ago and put the stock tune on and boy does the truck feel sluggish and shifting is worse. Right back to the Livernois tune and the truck just comes alive.

Can't speak if most run the performance tune all the time as I know some use the tow tune as a daily. I also have the 91-93 performance tune but haven't used it.

Not sure about the speed limiter as I haven't hit 110 but hit over 100

Definitely more umph!

I have Unleashed tune and love it, But I am itching to try Revolution automotive tune
Man, they have a horrible website. Nothing is clickable and very little information.

Alright guys! I have waited and read enough!
I going to go with Livernois! I been looking at them for a long while.
Just wanted to research my options before I pull the trigger. I don't want to have to
retune or change tune if not need be.

Thank you again, fellow Rangerneers!

You will NOT regret it. Been running the 91-93 tune and love it! I often run it with factory tow mode and like the way it shifts. I easily get sub 6 second 0-60 runs. I also have the dual rear exit Gibson exhaust and am convinced I got another 5-10HP. Love my set up.

Looking forward to it! I'm excited!
i'm running the MBRB dual exhaust with a CV down pipe.
Also have a Mitsi intercooler with pipes. and air box.
I hope to get a little extra boost with the tune.
To old for the 1/4 mile deal. But I got 130 on the dash and would like to be able
to do that! (If and when I want!)
Thanks for the positive feedback.
My other Ranger buddy is looking for a big turbo! He is more into the 1/4 deal!

You'll get more than just a little extra boost! Especially with that set up.

Invest in some H rated tires at least.

Forscan will let you disable the speed limiter as well.

I know you already decided, just a quick note, I have the Ford Performance Pack tune and I am very satisfied with it. If anyone else is struggling with this question in the future, I think it is a great option that does not invalidate your factory warranty.

I got the Ford Performance Tune and I'm very happy with it. After adding the wheels/tires, leveling and Flow Master exhaust the tune put my gas mileage is right back were it was before - 22mpg. Runs and drive sooooo much better now.

I have the Unleashed 92-93 tune and it's awesome. The shifting is a million percent better than stock and Lucille hauls balls. I haven't used the Unleashed tow tune yet even when towing my tent trailer. No need to but I do use the Rangers tow mode when towing. Torre is great to work with. No regrets at all.
