But do you like it?
Love it! It's not a big flashy "look at me" mod, but it's definitely the BEST one I will ever have on this truck.

I am going to have some big flashy "look at me" mods on this truck too. ?

OK, I've filled up a couple more times. Top half of the tank seems to last forever! Gauge stays on full for around 250 miles, and half tank hits around 400 miles. I've been filling up at 3/8 left on the gauge, which takes about 22-24 gallons to top off.
Isn't there a way to change the gauge to coordinate with the new tank - like Forscan? Or is there a mechanical float that doesn't have the physical range of travel to be recalibrated? It would just be cool to see a projected range of 999 miles on the dash.

Complete waste of money. As said previously, just buy an F150.
I suspect a similar trim level F150 will be more than $3K more.

All that has been updated with FORscan. This tank is a bit deeper than the OEM tank, i suspect it just takes a bit for the fuel to get down to a level where the float can see a drop

I went back through the comments and saw that. I imagine someone at Ford corporate peeking into your Fordpass data would be flipping out.

Trails that tight are gonna ruin a Ford Ranger too. Get a Polaris Ranger. Most people, including myself, are not going to routinely run tight trails on a $40,000+ truck unless Daddy bought it for us and we don't mind selling it for next to nothing.
Someone has a pavement princess. Some of us enjoy what we work for.

I’m an adult and bought the truck myself. I bought it to explore the Colorado backcountry. I don’t plan to sell it either. Your preconceived notions are completely wrong. Thanks for playing.

Some of us have "mall crawlers" and some don't. The only problem I have is that every time I "crawl the mall" the local police run me out! ?‍♂

I'm quite happy to take the Tremor I worked for off-road, but to run it frequently on tight trails for eight hours straight would surely take it out of the princess category in no time at all. I'd rather tow a Polaris Ranger to the trail head for that! :)

It's totally irrelevant as to what we use our Rangers for, 8 hours of off-roading or 8 hours of "mall crawling". It is up to each to buy what they want or feel is necessary for their own use.
Mine is a several times a week Bojangles Breakfast run truck, but is also used for some heavy duty towing. If I could buy the tank and install it myself. I'd probably go for it, but I'm not able too, and the idea of spending another grand to have it installed is a no-go for me....I wish I could as the xtra range when towing at 10 mpg would help, doubling the 180 tank miles to 350 miles or more.

Thanks for a really interesting thread.

For those that say just get an F150, I would say that I sold a GMC Sierra AT4 because it just didn't work size wise for where we go frequently. In the interim I had a Rubicon, but that didn't work for the nursery runs. The Ranger FX4 is just about perfect for our needs. Really capable to do all the off roading we need, plenty of load carrying and towing capacity and still small enough to get in all the tight spots we encounter.

I do have accommodations in the bed for a couple 5 gal jerry cans, but truth be told, I mainly use just one when I am making a gas station run to get a can of gas for the Walker.

Our long range camping days are kind of behind us. Mary's idea of "camping" these days is a place like the Ahwahnee. :)

Ditto for me. =)

I'd love it but don't need it and the install looks like a massive PIA (since we're labeling Rangers, mine's a dump runner extraordinaire). =p

If I ever need more fuel capacity, then it's this:

As a side note, I got this can with a one inch spout, which is too big for the Ranger, so I got the 5/8" one and that does fit. BUT ... once you insert it, it's really hard to pull out due to the ribbing (okay, comment with 7th-grade boy humor). =p

So I got a second funnel that I carry in the SwingCase. And I'll probably put the one inch spout back on the can (I use this for lawn equipment too).

With this and an ability to regear within reason I’m the truck would be perfect.

I am curious if any pricing changes happen and how hard the install is really.
