Wow! Now this is some serious feedback! You seriously are ready to give up on the performance tune? Just asking because I was seriously considering getting it.

Be aware that the ranger is still heavy. The power does make a difference but not like if you were in a light weight sports car. Like it or not that is the truth. Also to my understanding you are the only one here saying you didnt get a noticable change.
True maybe mine just come bad ass from the factory already I don’t know. At least it didn’t brick my ECU

Man I think my truck is night an day better with the 93 performance tune. I run the 87-89 tune in the winter an it's much better than stock too.

Aside from the multiple times my truck was bricked by the tuner, I also didn't see the performance boost I was expecting. Though it did indeed shift better.

Doesn't matter now as I will never reinstall it.

How long did it take for the tune to settle in? It's driving me nuts with the transmission relearning.

I can't speak for others but for me I have notice the transmission will take roughly 5,000 moles to relearn. Its just the nature of the 10R80. Mind you I strictly run the Tow tune so I do t have to worry about the relearn process.

Oh ok. The soft shift performance tune seems fine. It's just the regular performance I'm wondering if it will get better.

To an extent yes. Remember under the performance tune the shifts will most likely be a bit more stiff compared to other tunes simce you are going for performance.

When I was running the 91-93 performance tune it was rough shifting especially in the lower gears. I put over 10K miles on it and while it did get better it's not smooth like the soft shift tune is.

I've had that one in for about 10 months now and really like it. Still plenty of power and you don't feel the rough shifts in stop and go traffic like with the performance tune.

Yeah I think the version you have now is better than version 4. It's still smooth but feels different too.

That's why I was afraid to switch over to the newer version. I'm happy the way it is now so like the old saying goes "if it's not broke don't fix it". :D
