So I’ve been running the livernois 91-93 performance tune for about six months and couldn’t be happier with its overall performance. Other than not being able to use 93 octane because I live in crazy Cali and can only find 91 octane.

Anyways I read on previous threads that the tow tune offers better low end torque which is great for towing and off road driving. So today I decided to try out the tow tune. I have only driven about 30 miles so far and the ride has been very rough. The shifting is extremely rough much more than when I first installed the performance tune. I’ll give an update in two weeks to see if the computer has learned to not shift so hard.

My question is has anyone switched from performance to tow tune and had the same shifting problems?

Maybe Livernois can give some insight also.

I tried the tow tune and it does shift rough at first then smooths out after a while. When switching between tunes this is common. I only ran it for 1 tank and switched back to the 91-93 performance tune which I like a lot better. I don't tow but when off roading I do switch to the tow tune. Give it at least a tank and it should smooth out for you.

Quick question:

Do you have to flash back to stock before loading a different tune?

Or can you go directly between Tow, 91 Performance, 91 Soft Shift, etc?

You can go between tunes and don't have to flash back to stock.

The tow tune is really good for towing, but always uses 2nd gear, so the shifting is a little rough. It does have to relearn the shifting every time you change tunes, so give it a tank or two.

Yeah that’s what I did. I didn’t return to stock I just went straight into the tow tune.
