Okay so you don't quite have a full understanding of that tune much yet as I can tell and that's okay I can help elaborate a bit. The tow tune is going to be very similar to like having no tune but you will have more power and a little bit more refined shift pattern. The skip gear is still considered okay under normal driving conditions because you don't always need to hit every single gear if you're not under load. When you put it in tow mode it is still possible to go into 10th gear if you have no load because the truck is load sensitive. When you put a load on the truck towing a trailer it will automatically make a lower gear the Top Gear due to the extra load. This is something that's considered normal. I understand you might say the RPM's need to be higher but also understand if you're driving for fuel economy you still need to have a lower RPM. My suggestion is hold on to the tow tune and you will still be impressed. It's not like you're going to be gapping Ferraris at the quarter mile but you also have to remember this is a truck that's meant to work. It's not meant for 24 hours of LeMans
I agree not trying to na say the tune just was hoping for a little more.
the shifting is smooth no clunking at all. It would be awesome if you could dial in the rpm for each shift. I will keep this tune on here for a while and see what happen. One thing is for sure when I had the stock tune and you push the tow mode button you physically could not make it go onto 10th gear with no load on the truck. Pressing the + button it would stay at 9th.

The soft shift tow tune was ok when I tested it. Could pass for daily driving without towing. But I felt like it was weak trying to speed with the flow of traffic and pass at high speeds. With stock it still had a lot more juice and was more easier to do those things. The tune will still get up to high speeds but I think stock does it better. If I was towing something all the time then I would stick with the tune.

For performance v4, I've been testing for a few weeks now, I love it when I'm getting on the highway but driving at lower speeds with traffic lights drives me nuts with the way its shifting. I was going to let it sit in till my next oil change but I just couldn't do it and switched back to soft shift performance.

Which tune are you referring to? It was about the same as yours for stock.

Pretty similar as performance and goes through them all just not a rough take off. Alot smoother
Tried it today and 1-3-5678910 driving normal but if you punch it it goes through all the gears. to me the power doesn’t seem any different than tow tune. I don’t really think it’s 80hp and 100 torque
more like 10hp and 30 torque. It’s funny how I have a 67 camaro dyno at 420 hp then change carburetor and got 460hp it felt so much more powerful and that’s only 40 More hp. Livernois tune claimed 80hp on the ranger. I call bullshit!

Yeah I think there's more hp in the regular performance tune itself. When you accelerate are you getting high rpms, mine is going up to 4k? When I was driving the previous version, it didn't seem to be that high but I could be wrong.

I also see better performance after the engine is warmed up and I top off the gas.

Wow! Now this is some serious feedback! You seriously are ready to give up on the performance tune? Just asking because I was seriously considering getting it.

I feel he is being a bit overdramatic and thought he was going to gap Corvettes and Ferraris on the strip. He clearly fogot he has truck that is meant for work and wont be satisfied what so ever.

The main thing I noticed is there isn't a struggle getting to 60 mph when getting on the highway with the performance tunes. On stock there was more struggle.

Even so mine takes off like a rocket in this cool weather. When I first got my tune it was August and 110 outside. There was a noticeable difference over stock but the real fun began once the temps dropped and the air was crisp. It's possible it didn't take the tune and it needs to be re-flashed.

Be aware that the ranger is still heavy. The power does make a difference but not like if you were in a light weight sports car. Like it or not that is the truth. Also to my understanding you are the only one here saying you didnt get a noticable change.
